Tree Planting in Isalo

Isalo Village received 200 fuel saving stove and 200 energy saving hay baskets from two non government organisations: WomenFirst and Solsolidari. In response, the community is planting trees to restore the destroyed environment. They are mainly planting local trees that are drought resistant and good for timber or fruits or fodder for their livestock.
They need volunteers to help make seedbeds for the trees so they can have easy access to the seedlings from the village. The nearest forestry seedbed is 23km away which makes access difficult.
Welcome
Grant proposal writer needed

We need an integrated project to teach literacy skills in local languages as part of community improvement focused on generating income, preserving the environment, addressing local health concerns, promoting peace and conflict resolution, and encouraging education for adults and children.
The project should build on the routine activities of the community, farming; small business; etc. Please help us with every idea(s) to develop this project proposal.
SUPPORT OVC PROGRAM

Luhwahwa Youth Development Foundation (LUYODEFO) is seeking neighbors and the global community to join hands in saving the suffering and helpless children in Uganda. The aim is to complement the efforts W.O.R.C (USA) to ensure that the humanitarian rights and needs of the needy children are met. Our key partner, the World Orphanage Relief Corporation, W.O.R.C (www.orphcorp.org) has pledged to build a home for 50 children - hopefully to be fully funded by summer 2011, in addition to a donation of various items including shoes donated by SHARE OUR SOULS yet to arrive in Kampala, Uganda.
Find organisations and networks to share information on sustainable agriculture and rural development

CARDI would like to link up with organisations and individuals to share information on sustainable agriculture and rural development. This could be by forming direct partnerships or by joining common-interest networks, both within Uganda and internationally.
Through these links we hope to gain new knowledge and ideas which will enable us to expand our activities and make our work with local farmers more effective. We would also like to pass our own experience on to others.
Volunteer Opportunities For Nabuur Villages/Neighbors

After a workshop arranged in Mukono which was about " Attracting More Volunteers to Our Projects" , Kawempe's LRs Mawanda Robert and Ochieng Kennedy had a meeting with Isaac Ssamba from Mukono who organised the workshop and brought an idea of starting a project that brings skills and funds together to help the undeprived communities in Uganda. We started HB Volunteer Uganda , http://hbvolunteeruganda.yolasite.com/
