Update on the status of the Primary School

Garry has been informed that he can make his donation through the Help Nepal Network branch in Australia and that they will direct this money to Krishna Primary School. Min has submitted the remaining information required by Help Nepal Network to provide additional information in support of the proposal we submitted for construction of the remaining two classrooms. At this point, everything is still in progress and we do not yet have an answer about if they will supply funding for the other half of the estimated cost.

The Gamauli village has a big year ahead and we wanted to take time to highlight some of the BIG changes that we are hoping to impact at Krishna Primary School.

Attached is the current budget as of 11/29/08 for the addition of two classrooms to Shree Krishna Primary School in Gamauli. I am going to go ahead and close this task because we've now reviewed the budget several times. I think for now, it appears okay and if there are further questions down the road that we need to clarify, we can make sure it gets done.

Hi everyone-
I was able to talk briefly with Min this morning. He is still in Dailekh and will be returning to Kathmandu maybe tomorrow. He had exciting news about access to water at the school. Apparently during his trip, he was able to visit a local market and talked with them about providing water to the school between the hours of 10 AM-4 PM. They agreed to do this for free. He will post more information as soon as he returns, but I thought that was an exciting development.

Help Min describe the plan for adding the two rooms to the school. Who will do what? How will the local community contribute?

For classrooms, you could provide the following details:
- size and location of community property
- existing structures in this property
- what precise help do you need for the 5 new classrooms - do you need funds?, or do you need the help of an architect?, or do you need construction material?, etc.
Similar information could be provided for the health facility.
Neighbours could then suggest solutions.
