HIV/AIDS

Posts about HIV/AIDS

:) Hey there Co-Nabuuurian!! :)

I completely agree that the issue you have raised is an area of concern not just in Elmina, but in Africa, as a whole, and so I am interested in doing the much I can to help. However, there are a few things I would like to clarify.

Discussion - Design & Implementation of the Home Basic Care Project

Status: Just started
Step:
1

In our community there are a high number of people living with HIV/AIDS as well as orphans who lack and need basic care. Because of this problem they suffer and die quickly.

VH-LAHA is planning to conduct a Home Basic Care Project. The aim of this project is to assist people living with HIV/AIDS as well as orphans that are lacking basic care by helping with things like meals, clothing, basic medical care, and education. Right now, our efforts are funded by financial contributions and donations from our members.

Find resources for HIV/AIDS awareness programs

Status: In progress
Time needed:
Two hours
Step:

To expand our HIV/AIDS awareness programming, we would like to find examples of other programs and any resources that would help us plan these activities. Examples of training manuals, handouts and community guides would be especially helpful.

HIV/AIDS I.E.C. Materials

Status: Just started
Step:
1

We are in need of HIV/AIDS Information Education Communication Materials to be tailor made to Kenya Sign Language for our behavior change programme. Any neighbor out there who is willing to help? Ideas or ready posters are most welcome.

The materials should be encouraging condom use, faithfulness or abstinence from sex. Materials discouraging retrogressive cultural practices like FGM, polygamous marriages are also welcome.

Thank you.

Solomon.

Support the Kiserian Football Team

Status: Needs urgent help
Step:
3

The Kiserian village has started a football team to help boys to come out of drug abuse, and alcohol addiction. Also, this is meant to campaign awareness of HIV/AIDS and to help the youth to come together and help our village's development.

Hi everyone-

I am looking for a volunteer or three to write up 3 short informational posts for the Kagulu village. These will be used as the initial introductory posts on a blog that I am in the process of creating for them to introduce the village online and assist me with networking for them. I have pictures to go with each of these topics already-I just need content.

I would like to have posts for the following topics:

1. Food scarcity.
2. HIV/AIDS (lack of health care)
3. Water-Borne Disease and the need for a clean water source in the community.

I came across a complete hiv/aids lesson plan for schools. It contains teacher and pupil materials. Quite interesting to have a look at. Eddy could this be useful for the kids in Kisozi?

These activities are quite nice and interesting to use in class too: http://www.avert.org/lessons.htm
