From what Joseph has posted in this thread, my interpretation is as under :

HOME STAY PROGRAM (SIDE BUSINESS)
---------------------------------

Input to home stay business - money required for rented accomodation, all facilities for stay, total $ zzz per annum

Output of home stay program - chargeable services, total income $ yyy per annum

Profit of home stay business = output minus input = $ yyy minus $ zzz = $ xxx

This $ xxx (profit of home stay business) goes as input to Medical home program (see below).

Carolyn, you are right about the enormous efforts required. The 'side project' as referred by you is Joseph's plan BB, as mentioned in my post above. (plan AA is Joseph's 'health care plan'). After he has found the suitable site, and worked out the costs, as suggested by you, he will then need to develop a techno-commercial feasibility report and discuss with the banks to see their reaction about the possibility of loans. The response of the banks is important to assess whether the home stay plan (BB - side plan) can be profitable under the existing circumstances.

From the posts above, the following seems to be the big picture :
- your main project is - Medical Home Care Service (say AA)
- you also plan to start - Home Stay tourism (say BB)
- you plan to use the profits from BB to fund the operations of AA

The following issues will need to be addressed :

- managing and operating hotels, guest houses, hostels, lodges, inns, etc is a highly specialized job, and needs specially trained and experienced professionals

Hi everyone-I hope you're all having a great weekend. I was able to talk with Tejanath today and he provided me with an update on the status of the project.

The District Development Committee has not met yet. Tejanath recently was able to talk to one of the key people from the committee who reported they plan to meet soon, but a date has not yet been set. Due to the recent protests at the college, they had been doing some work around the issues that sparked the protests. Tejanath reports that the former college committee has resigned and that they hope to form a new one.
