Posts about Marketing

Hello Pastor Fred,

Can you clarify a bit as to what you are looking for here? Are you looking for ideas to attract more visitors to the website or are you looking for someone to review the website and see ways to improve it from a marketing point of view?

If you are looking for was to increase traffic there are a number of things you can do:

1. Start a facebook page and link this page on Nabuur, the page on facebook and your website
2. Join other social networking groups such as Twitter (Maybe Romina knows more about these options....)

Hi everyone-

I was able to talk with Tejanath this morning and get some updates. One of the biggest concerns that I have at this point is that the local community seems to be very focused on basing this project around the www.sankhuwasabha.com website. While I do agree that if properly developed, this can be a useful marketing tool, I cautioned again about having the website become the primary focus of this project.

Hi everyone-

I am happy to report that I was able to talk with Tejanath this morning about several issues and wanted to post an update so you all know where things stand at this point:

1. FAQ: Tejanath has seen the FAQ draft submitted by Carolyn. He noted where more information is needed, but told me that he was not sure how to update the document itself. I encouraged him to just post a reply in the thread with the missing information and that we would update the document so that it can be finalized. He agreed to do that.

Edit and Write Content for the Website

Step:
3

Over the last several months, Tejanath has been working with a website developer based in Kathmandu to establish a website featuring information about the Sankhuwasabha district of Nepal. The website is located here:

www.sankhuwasabha.com

For this task, we are looking for volunteers to provide editing support, and also volunteers to help Tejanath write content for the website. What type of information would be useful in terms of making the website a successful marketing tool?

Define the tourism project

Step:
1

Arun Valley Concern Center would like to support tourism efforts throughout the Sankhuwashbha district of Nepal and draw more tourists into the region. In order to help us establish a clear direction forward, we need a good project definition.

What do we want to offer in terms of support to existing tourism agencies?

What support can we offer to the local community to allow them to benefit from the tourists that come through the area?

Hi Barry-

Thanks so much for your post. I do agree with you about the SWOT analysis. I feel that is a missing link as well.

In terms of comparison with the competition, I'm not sure that we are necessarily after developing a product like a "tourism company", but rather drawing tourists to the region...at least I think. I will have to defer to Tejanath on that, but that is my understanding so far. I think it is a point that we definitely need to clarify. I suppose though even at that we would still need to define what it is that the district has to offer that other areas do not.

I added a group tonight on Facebook located here:

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=44434422817

Pictures, recent news and information about sponsorship still need to be added. Tejanath what is the address for the SESF office?

Dear Catherine,
First of all, let me welcome you warmly as a new neighbour! It sounds like you really can contribute a lot to getting closer to our marketing goals!

I confirm what you said, that we want to do both: have a dedicated website and sell via ebay/etsy. And I also confirm that the marketing of their products, basically setting up a professional business out of the initiative is a priority for the women.

Research the Internet for Places to Link or Post Information about SESF

Step:
2

There are many avenues to market any organization via the Internet these days. Do you know of a good place to establish a linkage or post information about the Sankhuwasabha Education Scholarship Foundation (SESF)? Tell us about it!

We want to focus on simple things we can all do to help, for example, like creating a link between the village here at Nabuur and your Facebook page so your friends can learn more about the organization. Social bookmarking, again so that the people you know can see what a great organization this is and then in turn tell someone else.
