Mosquito nets for Nabitende: share your experience of net distribution in Uganda, or help us raise money

Malaria is a problem in Nabitende so EFORDE wishes to provide mosquito nets to community members.
They would like to start by obtaining 100 nets to be distributed to children, mothers and the elderly.
Many organisations provide free or reduced-cost nets in Uganda but, because of the high level of need across the country and lack of information on application procedures, it is not easy for a community to be selected to receive these nets.
Tonny-
It is really great seeing you take an active role in the fundraising efforts for mosquito nets in your community. Your ability to provide real life information and an accurate picture of the impact a net can make on the life of a child in Mawoito is really very important. We will continue to work at promoting the fundraising efforts and I hope to see you and the other meet your fundraising goal.
Keep up the good work!

Hi Joanne,
It is customary for the organizations providing aid to also monitor the flow of the aid till it reaches the intended recipients. In case any disconnect is found in the realities on the ground, such aid can also be discontinued, or reorganized till the network on the ground is improved. It might be a good idea for people who are posting their requirements of mosquito nets etc on platforms like nabuur to also contact the organizations providing the aid and provide their own feedback about why the aid is not reaching the people on the ground.

Research & identify options to supply mosquito nets

Arrow Web Hospital would like to maintain stock of mosquito netting that can be provided to women in the Kayole-Soweto community with children under the age of 5-years. If the hospital can get an initial supply to keep in stock, the hope is that they would be able to add a line item to the budget to purchase replacements for those that are given out each month.
The hospital presently treats around 200 patients per month. Out of these, approximately 75% are women with children under the age of 5 years. The estimated cost for purchasing a treated mosquito net locally is $5 USD.
