though this post is late (but recent) in reference to your post but I would like to share anothe good initiative in the field of tourism in Nepal "Agro-Eco-Tourism". People of Phoolbari (my village) are hosting volunteers and visitors. These hosts are Organic Farmers where tourists can see, learn and experience of organic farming system, permaculture and enjoy their time in a homely environment.
