Finding books, school supplies and other equipment

Many schools and training centres need books, school supplies and other items e.g. laboratory equipment, tools etc
Provide details organisations or companies who may be able to donate this, both locally and internationally.
If the items came from another country, how did you cover shipping costs or find low-cost/free shipping? If you were successful at getting items donated within your own country, how did you do this?
Shipping items from POLAND to LIBERIA - share your ideas!

Help Liberia Foundation have collected typewriters, toys and clothes in Poland, and have been offered more.
Unfortunately they do not have the funds to ship these items to Liberia. They are sure that if they can find a solution, many people in Poland would be prepared to donate things to the school.
Please provide your suggestions on how HLF can get these items from Poland to Liberia for free or reduced cost.

For the other villages to participate, you will also need to contact them directly, since all of them may not read your message on this thread. You could directly contact about a hundred villages, presuming that only 5 or 10 of these villages will respond positively. You can give them about one weeks' time to reply.
Through this method, within about 10-15 days you will be able to finalize the list of participating schools who can share the amount for shipping the container of books.

Servers for Kabondo

A neighbour from the UK has a number of servers to donate to Kabondo that will hopefully be used in a resource centre/library/internet cafe. He has them almost ready to go, but needs assistance with a few areas.
First, he has indicated that he can assist with part of the shipping costs, but they are higher then expected so his thought is to have some kind of fundraising in the UK. The funds could be used not only for shipping but could go towards the microloan projects and Kabondo projects in general. Here's where you may be able to help:

I came across this today...they are an organization based here in the United States in Chicago, but it looks like they work to raise the shipping costs for the projects they support from the information on their website. That's such a huge need, I think it's fantastic that they work on that aspect too!
