Find Transport Solutions for Students to reach the School (pick-up/drop-off bus program, bycicles, motorcycle parts, etc.)
The community is asking for assistance in finding solutions to provide transport (school bus, lorry, ambulance and double cabin pick-up vehicles) for the students and staff of Bukoggolwa Secondary School.
Transport takes one of the most urgent priorities as it not only facilitates access to the students, but also facilitates transporting of school supplies and other services beneficial to the smooth running of school programmes.
What is needed:
-To provide motor-cycles and spare-parts for teachers and non-teaching staff to improve on their performance and increased efficiency.

Bicycles for the Community Health Team
We have been working on research in the Masaka village on the feasibility of obtaining bicycles for students who live far from the school to improve attendance. It occurred to me after looking at several of these sites and seeing how many of these organizations provide bicycles to support health care workers, that this may be a good option right now for the community health team at the hospital.
I talked with Bramuel and he agreed, so we're posting this new task to explore whether or not we might get bicycles for the hospital to utilize until they can obtain a vehicle.
Hi everyone-
I was able to meet with Fred again today as well as 14 members of the Kagulu community. We talked a little bit about health awareness campaigns for Malaria and HIV/AIDS. The community believes that Malaria is their biggest health concern at this time due to it being rainy season.
They have received the information that I sent them about strategic planning/business planning. There was a problem with electricity so they were not able to print it and take it back to the local community. I offered to summarize and send it in an email message instead.
RESEARCH-transportation options for getting students to school
As a long-term goal, Notre Dame High School would like to one day purchase a mini-bus. This would be used to transport children to school and also to workshops/seminars. At the present time, there are not finances available to do this.
For this task we would like to research alternative transportation solutions. Some of the children come to school from very far away. Some live nearby as well, but others have to walk between 2-5 miles to/from the school location. One of the options that has been mentioned in previous discussion is use of bicycles.
Hi Elizabeth-
Welcome to the Khandbari village! Just a couple things to keep in mind...this school is located in a remote area and transportation is almost always an issue. In addition to locating the items, we will also need to secure transportation and funding for the transportation costs, so the closer we can get them to the location to minimize cost the better.
If you have any other questions about the project, please feel free to ask. We appreciate your efforts to help with this task. Again welcome!

Here is a list of several other resources we collected in the Khandbari village in association with getting books for the school library. Again, with most of these, transportation costs will likely be the most prohibitive factor. I still believe 100% that you will find the most success if you focus primarily on the organizations working inside Nepal already, including publishing and book distribution houses.
