We are considering all possible means of income generation to help our school and the students that we serve. We are seriously considering income-generation activities such as raising poultry, establishing a demonstration garden at the school and teaching tailoring and/or other artisan skills to our students.
We would like to set up a pig farm for orphans and community members as a demonstration project at the school to help supplement income. We would need help getting pigs to get us started, defining management skills to teach to the farmers as well as to learn about feed and obtaining the proper vaccinations to make our demonstration farm a success.
We hope that our volunteers can help us set up this demonstration project and make it a success. We look forward to benefiting from your advice and expertise.
Playing sports is well known to offer children more than simply physical benefits. It has been shown to help children both academically and socially. Research shows that when children play sports, especially girls, they are much more likely to develop a positive body-image, higher self-esteem and are less likely to be overweight. When children are involved in sports, they are less likely to participate in deviant behaviors such as drug abuse and smoking due to the negative effects this has on their performance. Sports helps children develop discipline, set goals and achieve those goals.
There are presently 242 students enrolled in the school. The school has some text books, reading novels, pencils, pens, coloured pencils, etc., but many students still go without. Sports equipment would also be a blessing to our school.
These pupils need assistance paying school fees. The fee helps to provide school uniforms, food, clothing, and basic medical care. The school uniform is yellow in color and we employed a local tailor to make them. We hope to provide at least two pairs per pupil, that is 484 uniforms for 242 pupils.

MAWOITO Childcare Project requires to roof two houses for two widowed families. The houses are in a sorry state and we request people who can help us to roof these two houses with iron sheets. The houses where there currently are are grass thatched and they are leaking since its a rain season here in Uganda.
Concerning the costing for the houses for the widowed women, we will need $340 dollars each for the widows houses since it will need to procure new iron sheets and timber for the two houses and then pay for labour for those going to roof the two houses.
