The first schools have already been put in contact with each other and the initiative was received very positively. The first schools to partner with each other are a school in Spring Valley Slum/Kenya and a school in Serere/Uganda. Moses and Everyline will both work with a class on a common class project making the kids (from 10 years on) write about christmas traditions in their region. They then will exchange the letters before Christmas and discuss differences.To save money, Everyline will scan the letters and send them by email. Another two classes in Mowoito/Uganda and in Mathare/Kenya are discussing to get started on a class project in social sciences. However, the funding remains a problem. Sending the letters, even if only once every two months or so is quite expensive for the villages. Looking for different funding possibilities, I got the impression that most programmes target north-south partnerships (as the porgramme by the British Council or by Dfid for example).
