Primary Education

Status: In progress
Step:

Use this task to discuss issues related to primary education in developing countries.

Tell us a little about yourself and your project. Share your experience of running or working at a primary school, and make contact with others who are doing the same. Share ideas, ask and answer questions, learn from each other.

Hi Peter

I have just realised you attached the docs as images (.jpg files). Do you have them in document format? If so, that will make it easier for me ano others to comment and suggest changes, as we will be able to modify the document directly.

For advice on the best methods/places to recruit volunteer teachers, and how to use them most effectively, try posting under the Volunteer task in this group at http://www.nabuur.com/en/group/education/project/task/volunteer-teachers...

It has come to our notice that the level of newly infected cases of HIV has increased in the north west region of Cameroon. From our findings we discovered that those who are already infected are out on a voluntary spread of the virus.what do think is the right way to tackle this problem?

Hi Peter

I have had a look at your volunteer documents and emailed you some suggestions. It seemed easier as I know you were having problems putting attachments on here.

Hello Everybody, my name is Hisenburg Q. Togba, founder/program & external relations officer-MOOPGEL. I'm a photojournalist and working on a project,"Linking Human Rights and Poverty". This project seeks to empower communities and individuals by focusing on education, training, health care, agriculture, etc. Due to the long years of civil war in Liberia, the country is poverty stricken-thus thousand of kids are out of school. This is because both pre-primary and primary education in Liberia are quite expensive for disadvantaged kids. Hence, the project had started the construction of a primary school to aid disadvantgaed in one community-with the desire to spread in each od the 15 communities.

Any suggestion here would be appreciate!

Hi Hisenburg

Welcome to Nabuur!

Nabuur is not registering any new communities at the moment. If you want to be informed when registration reopens, you can leave your email address at http://www.nabuur.com/en/assistance-your-community

Although you cannot add your project to the site, there are several existing Nabuur villages who are working on building schools, so you may be able to learn from them, and them from you.

One of those is Buchanan, also in Liberia. They currently run a primary school in a rented building and are now at the planning and design stage for building a school of their own as this will better meet their needs. You could get in touch with Paul Harry, the Local Rep, to see if you can share ideas.

There are several others, mostly in Kenya and Uganda, which you should be able to find from the Villages or Volunteer Opportunities pages. And you can also post questions here in the Education group here.

Hope that helps!

Mary
