After the NabuurCamp - Develop and discuss a new Nabuur support and help system

A support system and support material for LR, facilitators and neighbors.

Dear all,

The Nabuur Camp in Amsterdam was quite an experience and I think we as participants went there with mixed feelings, but came back now with the feeling that we have made a big step forward towards a better Nabuur platform and organisation. But lot needs to be done J The question of better support and help for neighbors, LR and facilitators was one of the key questions we discussed. It is now up to us to build a better support system, to develop guiding material and form groups of LR to support and connect to each other. This group has the mandate from the camp to work on this question and it would be great to have as many hands as possible to make it happen.

Sonja and I got started on a list of material LR, facilitators and neighbors would need to better find their way through Nabuur. (see the wiki) You also find all documents that have been created in the past and on which we could build. http://www.nabuur.com/en/group/nabuur-support-and-resources-team/project

To get started it would be great if you could:
- Brainstorm on what information LR, facilitators and neighbors would need. Please add and comment in the wiki.
http://www.nabuur.com/en/group/resource-support-team/project/wiki/list-i...
http://www.nabuur.com/en/group/resource-support-team/project/wiki/list-i...
- Volunteer to write or edit one of the documents needed (put your name in he wiki). (of course everybody should have his input, but we need clear responsibilities)
- Volunteer to edit and design the final documents / prepare slide shows and graphics.
- Discuss a LR – facilitator support system – and help to put it in place.

In general, I think we should set us a timeframe and maybe have the goal to have in place the support system we think is most useful in about a month. (of course it can be developed further then, but it is important to have some results, especially for LR to avoid further chaos.)

Hi Maria and everyone

I have been going through this and everything is in 2 places. I doubt that, if I wanted to find anything again that I would be able to. Bear in mind, I am not highly technical! I am finding this quite confusing and if it's possible, I think it would be better if tasks and posts were clearly named and in just one place - preferably a new place without old discussions on them because, although they may be helpful, the old discussions can also be a bit confusing within the new ones. I feel like I am trawling through barely relevant stuff when I am trying to find the new discusion - perhaps the previous relevant discussions could be referred to via a link in the blurb? That way, if we want to refer to some background info, we can use the link, and if the background is already familiar (alot of it was going over and over... and over... old ground) then we can more easily focus on the new discussion

Is is possible to establish a new 'village' dedicated to post Nabuur camp discussions? That would be relativly easy to find and then the various tasks that were set up in the camp could be set up using the same terminology as the camp under that 'village'.

As I am not sure if I have put this in the right place (there appears to be at least 4 places currently where this post could go) I have also copied it to the Nabuurcamp listserve)

I agree that the current setup is confusing.

My suggestion:
* Keep the Resource, Website and Governance groups as the topics are not really related - it can get confusing when a group/village has lots of projects.
* Close/delete any discussions in these groups that are no longer relevant.
* Add new tasks/projects as necessary
* Remove all the groups that are no longer being used
* Move Resources group under the Nabuur section on the groups page.

Dear all,

This groups is exclusively to discuss a new support system for LR and facilitators. I tidied up a bit the discussions. So when you go to the projectroom now http://www.nabuur.com/en/group/resource-support-team/project, you will find very easily four main discussions - one about what Nabuur can do and what not, one for suport for LR, one for facilitators and one for neighbors. All existing documents can be found in this news item as well as under each discussion thread for LR, facilitators and neighbors.

Hope this helps, and sorry for any confusion,
Maria

Hi all,

As Jennifer gesticulated through e mail about Taking IT Global. Thanks Jennifer for indicating the right option in the right time.

Although I've less experience, less knowledge & less skills as compare to all of you, still I can suggest the use of Taking IT Global is easy as A B C....................

For example, If I'm a new user & want to be registered on the website. I try a lot & find confusions, finally, I'll give up. Let me be straight forward if I've the option of any one in between Nabuur & Taking IT Global, in current situation I'll move towards Taking IT Global. Because of its simple use I'll be motivated thoroughly.

The main issues as LRs we discussed in the company of Mary, Maria & Sonia under the vigilant observation & guidance of Respected Siegfried & got the positive gestures of Pelle & Rolf.

The main issues were swinging around NABUUR in the conference room of IIRE, they were:

* Make it simple
* Make it easy
* Make it friendly
* Make it interesting
* Create some fun

But now I'm doubtful things aren't moving accurately. Undoubtedly, we've to start from some where but why beginning only with confusions? Being a local representative or a neighbor I'll prefer the simplest & the easiest option. To make website easy & simple that has been discussed before the camp, during the camp & now of course it's also a burning issue.

Frans & Mary, you both are quite experienced & both of you admit about confusions. So definitely things need a bit changes because we need the maximum participation of participants. If they can't understand things so how can they play their role to promote Nabuur?

I hope soon we'll be having the interesting options of utilizing it in simple, easy & friendly way with a lot of fun.

Best regards,

Adnan khan.
