Dear everyone,

It’s always nice to start off the weekend on a positive note, so below is an update on what’s been done so far, and what continues to be, regarding the technical bugs on the site. Lots of work is being done each day to make sure we attain the level of website that can be used to its potential and also enjoyed by everyone on NABUUR.com.

It’s been a bit of a bumpy ride so far but from the looks of it, all major bugs have been found, in part thanks to the investigation work of many of you. Again, we thank each and everyone that took the time to comb through the website in fine detail.

So without further delay, here’s a progress update of some of the technical issues, and some exciting news about one of the most exciting features soon to be readily available...

Latest Post first

- In the task discussion threads, above the postings, you'll now see 3 buttons:

1. In date order: All posts are in order of posting from oldest to newest.
2. Last post first: All posts are in order of posting from newest to oldest.
3. In comment order: All posts are in threaded form, from oldest to newest, and you can see which post has replies connected to it.

-"If you are in "Newest Comments First" view, and write a post, it returns as "Comment discussion view"

This is the bonus:-) You can go to My Nabuur --> click edit --> search for Comment preferences and select your preference (one of 3 mentioned), then the discussions will always appear as you like it.

-"My Nabuur screen lists the latest posts. However, when you select one, it only displays that post not the whole task discussion."

Solved. When you select one, you're now directed to the correct post in the thread form. The idea to show tasks with new content is not in yet, may be ready next week, if not it will be implemented by September.

-"Font is to small"

Even the staff agreed wholeheartedly on this one! Frans is working on it, but as he's not sure all pages are looking their best yet, more testing needs to be done.

"Replies do not appear to be showing up under the message the reply was about"

They should show up now...but only when you view the discussion in the 'thread view' - When your preference is set to Date Order or Latest Post First your reply cannot show up on the message the reply was about.

"The message I want to reply to doesn't show when I'm typing a reply"

Now when you hit reply to a message a new page will open up which will include the message you want to reply to. Upon submitting your reply, you'll be taken back to the first page of the thread again in order of your preference.

Email addresses for Facilitators

Upon request, 30 Facilitators were assigned a @volunteer.nabuur.com email address this week. At this time, only Facilitators have access to a NABUUR domain email id. (Facs: If you still haven't requested your email address, contact Romina at romina@nabuur.com)

Clinton Video page fix

Whereas before two Clinton videos were showing, now there's only one. :)

SMS, SMS, and more SMS!

By far one of the coolest functionalities that will be upcoming very soon on NABUUR.com. Here's how it will pan out:

The Local Representative will be able to register his/her mobile phone number on their profile.
When (and only if) the Local Representative of a Village has registered their mobile phone number, the Facilitator (and NABUUR staff) sees a link/button next to an article/post "Send to Local Rep via SMS".
So, the Facilitator will be able to SEND messages from the website to the Local Representative's mobile number.

When (and only if) a Local Representative has registered his mobile phone number, he can send a message to an international phone number which is connected to the NABUUR website. The website receives that message and it will be published in the News tab of the local rep's village. Hence, the Local Representative will be able to SEND messages from his/hers mobile phone to the website.

The SMS function is almost working, a first test of the whole procedure will be carried out next week. We are looking for one or more local rep/facilitator duos to test this SMS in the week after. Let us know via info@nabuur.com if you'd like to help out with testing.
