Melissa, that is a very good explanation, I can not add anything to this.

I have to investigate again why this message is still popping up. I can not imagine the site needs 2 minutes for any request.

Thanks Ginger,

there were two 'girls' operating under the name Jessica. Both managed to send 3 messages before they were stopped by the spam filter.
I've blocked them and removed the messages.

Hi Pelle

The 'News From the Villages' section at the top of the Villages pae is no longer being updated to show the latest posts. This has been going on for a few days, figured it would right itself but it has not.

Hi Mary,

Good catch, again.
I put the long query into a 15 minute cache to speed up that page.... but the cache is never cleared. I am investigating what is going wrong. Will solve the problem asap.

Hello all,

To investigate this issue further, i would like to ask your HELP.

Please, can you copy the error massage on the "overcapacity" page, and submit this text here, or send it in an email to info@nabuur.com. In attached image you see which text to send.

Thanks for your help,
Frans

Hi Frans,

I have to be honest and say that I have not yet had the "over capacity" message. Maybe that is because I am in Australia and due to time differences, I am usually online at different times to most.

Hi,
Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I just had someone ask me about starting a new village (at least I assume that is what they were asking). I went looking for a link to information for them and found the FAQ on the home page, but when I clicked on the link in there it just took me straight back to the home page.

Here is the page with the link http://www.nabuur.com/en/frequently-asked-questions#q59 and it is under the title of "Can I start a Village myself?"

Hi Melissa

There are several broken links and plenty of out of date info on that FAQ page. I offered to try and do a quick update on it a while ago but no one seemed interested so I didn't, and I think the work to update that sort of info has been absorbed into the Resources group.

There is more info on how to apply to register a community via the link in the yellow box at the top of the Home and Villages page. Direct link http://www.nabuur.com/en/assistance-your-community

For some very strange reason, when signed into the site that page gives me virtually no information, while if I am signed out it gives a lot more, but still does not give a link to an application form, so I have no idea how they actually apply. I normally tell them to email Romina romina@nabuur.com

This is correct:

  • Mary is facilitator, not allowed to start a new village. So the information is not shown.
  • Anonymous users are also not allowed to start a village, so the links are not shown to them
  • Logged in users, not facitator or Local rep, see the links: "Yes, I want to register my Village on NABUUR" and "No, thank you" on that same page.

I am happy it works like designed :-)

I am laughing so hard right now (I know, it isn't really that funny), but if it's that confusing then it's a wonder anyone can find out how to sign up! :O)

I think I will go with your suggestion and get them to email romina

Thanks Mary.

Hi Melissa,

I am happy you are laughing about it. Laughing loudly is the best un-stresser available.

But, it is not as bad as you and Mary are stating here. There are at least 3 entrypoints:

  • On the homepage there is a link "Click here to register on NABUUR" if they are logged in.
  • When signing up as a new neighbour, after confirming their email and submit a password, they get the page http://www.nabuur.com/en/get-started-nabuur. Third choice on that page is: Register my village.
  • Every Neighbour get on their "My Nabuur" page a big blok "Register your village". It is the first block in the right column

Ideas how to make it better? Please let us know here.

Don't forget we have neigbours with different roles, who can see and do different things on this site. You, as a facilitator have a lot more permissions than other neighbors. Local reps have yet other permissions than facilitators.

Hi Frans

OK I understand now, although as I, Melissa and others get plenty of Private Messages from people interested in registering their villages, it would be helpful if we saw the same info that they would.

Sorry Frans, but I don't see anything on the homepage. Do you have to be a "new neighbour" to see this link? ( I am not a facilitator, just an ordinary neighbour).

I also do not see any link on my "My Nabuur" page.

I would have thought the best place for it would be to have a link on the home page (if not on the home page then preferably in the FAQs) as that is where I would go (as I did).

BTW.... I frequently burst into fits of laughter, it stops me from crying! :O)

UPDATE: That link is working for me. It definitely wasn't the other night when I posted it, it just flipped me back to the home page. Yes, I was signed in at the time as I was looking for it so I could reply to a private message. :O)

Oh.... and just so I don't feel left out, I got my first "over capacity" (8:15pm AEST). I am not normally online at this time of night.

Hi Melissa

If you go to http://www.nabuur.com/ you should see a yellow box at top left hand side "click here to register on Nabuur". Also on Villages page, top right-hand side.

I don't see it on the My Nabuur screen, that could be because I am classified as a facilitator - although I not currently facilitating a village I have done in the past.

Ahhhhh....now I see. I skipped over it because I thought it was to "register as a neighbour". I just read the text below it! :O)

I also see the one on the villages page now, but there is definitely not one on "My Nabuur" and I have never been a facilitator. Maybe Frans meant the villages page?

Anyway, at least now I know where to send them. Thanks Mary
