Hi Ginger
It is at http://www.nabuur.com/en/group/nabuurcom-website-development/project/tas...
At least I assume it is, the descriptoin is talking more about people who have the technical skills to do design work, but I guess its the closest we have at the moment.
Other option is the old redesign tasks (go to the Porject Room tab and scroll down, but they don't appear to be active since staff stopped asking for, or responding to, our feedback on the new site. Seems that everything will happen at the Nabuur Camp in Holland which most of us will not be able to attend.
Pelle, Frans - please clarify where items like this should be posted?
Now you see why I don't really want to go round the whole circle again :)
Mary
Hi Ginger, Mary,
I'm aware of how the 'new messages' works, which is pretty standard, but also know you have different ideas on how it could work. Showing all messages from all the villages you're a neighbour of, is not a feasible option given the performance of the site (very heavy on the database). There are however new functions developed for Drupal 6 (the version that is being used for the redesigned site) which Kester has been looking into already. Those look more like the updates that , for example, LinkedIn shows.
I've set up a thread for 'various' redesign ideas under the redesign project: http://www.nabuur.com/en/group/nabuurcom-website-development/project/tas...
Pelle
A long wished function is made available today. From now on it is possible to report content when you think it doesn't belong on the Nabuur.com site. You see an new link "report this" on news, projects, tasks and discussions, see picture below. (Please don't try it now :-)
When you click the link, an email is send to the moderators (for now Pelle and Romina, until we have volunteers for this function). You see you have clicked the link because the link-text changed to "undo report this". You are not able to see if other people reported a story already.
The report this function is only working for content, not for private messages. Best way to fight spam there is to block the user, so they can not send private messages to you anymore. Of course, when private messages are really bad, please report the offending user in this thread.
Frans
Thanks guys
Another little issue for you with the current site...
I see there are two new villages today. Both give me 'Access Denied' on the Overview and Neighbours page, although Project Room and Background seem to be OK.
http://www.nabuur.com/en/village/jojoima
http://www.nabuur.com/en/village/mbulamuti
These are not the first villages to have this issue, and it really needs to be fixed permanently!!! If people go to a village that is listed on the Villages and My Nabuur page and cannot access the first page they get, they are unlikely to explore further unless they know the strange habits this site sometimes has.
Mary
Hi Mary,
Looking into it; we'll post a reply as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Ro
Thanks Romina :)
Have the news feeds been changed or standardized?
I noticed today after I tried to feed the Arrow Web Hospital blog posts to the Kayole-Soweto village that my original feeds were missing or changed to a more general topic of "KENYA."
I really prefer to be able to keep these village specific if/where possible. I realize some people may never look at them, but there are several out there who do.

Zambia Street Soccer is built from a passion to assist youths and the
most vulnerable, focussing on girls and women, in our community.
There is an urgent need to empower these people in education,
art/craft,sports and health issues.
Really need boxes to delete unread posts. Sometimes they are not relevant and you have to open all of them to get rid of them.
The website is slow enough! This is probably the main reason I don't log on much any more...there's too much to get through and it's too slow to do it..
although I have to say I am also disappointed in the loss of paid staff at this stage as I think Nabuur needs them right now.
Actually I think the original Nabuur website was more friendly than this one.. it was relatively quick, open and had chat and messages
:-)
Last time I looked GROUPS was like a group of volunteers in New York. Today I found myself on it...again, I don't know how....since I have never mastered this site - and low and behold a great opportunity for a competition with Teach A Man to Fish!!! - unfortunately the deadline is past. Shouldn it have been in News? How do we really find what is going on - AT THE MOMENT that we may need to address? - and then be able to store it away for future use or delete?

Hi Pelle
As you will know Stanley Okurut (Kapuwai LR) is trying to set up a Nabuur Group for Ugandan LRs. As I understand it, you have created the group, but now he needs a list of all the LRs in Uganda so that he can add them to it. Is there any way you can send him one? I know he has asked a few times, but has not received it yet.
I tried and failed to create a list for him myself vie the website - when you go to the list of Ugandan villages, it says there are 76. However, each time they are in a different order (it is supposed to put those with latest posts at the top, but that does not work) and you get half way down the list and start to get duplicates. So I am getting some of them (at least) twice, and others not at all! And if you do a Keyword search you only get 74 for Uganda.
If I had access to the Local Reps village I could do it that way as every LR should be a member, and it lists country against everyone on the Neighbours tab, but only LRs and those who used to work for Nabuur have access to that group.
So I am totally stuck, and frustrated as I would love to see LRs having an easy way to share info with each other!
Mary
Hi Mary,
I'm aware that this has been sitting on my lap. I am currently making a list with all Ugandan LRs for Stanley and looking for different possibilities for adding them too the group. I guess I should invite them personally (together with Stanley).
Pelle
Thanks Pelle, he was just a little unsure what was going on, so good to hear you are working on it :)
Mary
Thanks Pelle and Mary. I am waiting
