You can find the new NABUUR homepage, as developed during the NABUUR Camp on 13-14 Febr 2010 here: www.nabuurcamp.org.

Find all the documentation below.

The new homepage is visible here: www.nabuurcamp.org

Notes from the NabuurCamp:
Ideas for Website:

Website should be ENGAGING. People who come to the Nabuur website should see that Nabuur makes a difference and that it is easy and fun to do so. Therefore, the website should adopt visuals in order to be eyecatching.

Website should be CLEAR. The website needs to be short and to the point. People should neither have to scroll down to find crucial information nor get lost in a mess of messages.

Website should be OPEN. The website needs to convey the message to people that everyone is allowed to join and participate, hence, it should be organized around a set of crucial actions that people can engage in.

Four main Groups of actors:
1. Villages (local reps)
2. Volunteers (Neighbors)
3. Facilitators
4. Designers

Four main sets of actions corresponding with the four groups of actors:
1. Connect (your village to the world)
2. Volunteer (from behind your computer)
3. Facilitate (..)
4. Design (to enhance the Nabuur network)

Other (potential) changes:
Nabuur makes it easy to make a difference  Nabuur makes it easy and FUN to make a difference!
Nabuur.com  nabuurvolunteering.com

Websites for inspiration:
• Acquia.com
• BiDnetwork.org
• Endeavor.org/inaction

The homepage visuals as designed/created during the camp (thanks Tobias & team):

Originals can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tags/nabuurcamp/ and are attached

There is also a set with rounded corners available + the originals made in GIMP, so that the visuals can be edited (too big to upload).

Okay, I haven't had time to really check it out, but one thing I personally find annoying is when you have text in the slideshow (such as the new homepage does) and the slides flick too fast to read the whole of the text..... REALLY annoying! :O)

I think the Homepage is great and I have No Doubt they will slow the pictures with text down- this is just an example for us! I think it is much less boring than current one. Great start!
