On September 11, 2008, Shri Fakirbhai Vaghela, the Gujarat Government Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment, Sports, Youth & Cultural Activities visited Vadgam, where he watched the final match of the winter cricket tournament hosted by the Vadgam Sport Club.

Vadgam Sport Club provides local youth with positive social activities and the opportunity to develop their athletic talents in competition. During the Minister’s visit, Local Representative Nitin discussed the community’s plans for expanding the Sport Club.

“It was a fantastic experience for all of us,” Nitin said. “[The Minister] was very impressed” with the Sport Club, and offered to look for available government funding to help further the Club’s development.
