Hi to you beautiful people all arround the world:)
My name is Ivana, im a freelance writer. I do screenplays, songwriting and columns. I still believe in good things above all, in power of honesty, in "i have a dream" speech...in that georgeous thing-there is no difference beetwen us. There are only tiny souls and people wearing masks. God made us all equal...thats why im here. I believe that little kids need us, as much as we need our donut in the morning. Or just a hug from loved ones. Thats it. As simple as can be:)
Hello!
My name is Deeptha and I live in Madras, India. I used to be a Corporate Trainer till 2 months ago but am now a Storyteller. I'm part of an organization called Kathalaya (The House of Stories) that uses stories to teach different subjects in schools. We call it 'Integrated Learning through Storytelling'. Along with narrative techniques, I use puppets, picture stories, toy theatre and craft to add value to the story.
I believe that a story has the power to make a positive change in every sphere...most of all education.
Cheers,
Deeptha
Ivan,
Iam convinced you should extend your hand to www.nabuur.com/en/village/kasama
Let us hug the less privileged with Love

I am based in Ireland after most of my life spent in UK. I was involved several years ago as a facilitator, but life got in the way. I am working as a virtual assistant, and luckily have picked up several short term contracts. When in London I worked for a mental health membership organization, my job was managing conferences and pulling together the information from keynote speeches and workshops into publication. I also blog regularly. Although have no formal journalism/English qualifications, I write from the heart. I am also very interested in web design, SEO and that kind of stuff.
If there are still opportunities, I would be very interested.
Best wishes
Jean
Hi Jean - we can always use storytellers! I know Kirsti is working with one right now and I had given her two ideas, so maybe while she does one you could work on the other. Let me check with her and in the meantime I'll try to point you toward some others.
I'll get back to you soon!
Jennifer

we are the voice of voiceless
I am Odoi Erisa Yoga, working with makerere University, College of Health Sciences, and soon retiring. I intend to devote the rest of my life to my village- Komolo.
Background of Komolo Village:
Komolo is a rather small village of about 50 families, found in Tororo district,Kisoko county, Petta subcounty, Mbula parish. Komolo used to be a lovely, peaceful village populated with many trees and forests - which have all been cleared for survival. Farmland has become scarce as the population grows leading to many deadly land wrangles and conflicts among family members. There are many unemployed youths with little or no land to cultivate for survival. I have been wondering whether there is anything anyone can do or initiate that can help reverse this trend in the village and be able to improve on the quality of life of the people. When I came across Nabuur Neighbours, I thought I have found a family to share my thoughts with and be helped to chart a way forward for my village.
My Dreams:
I am dreaming of helping to create a model green village where all roads in the village are lined up with trees, where there is a reasonable homestead for every family - with trees around them, where food insecurity is not the order of the day, where there is accessible clean water, where the children are not malnourished and going to school. I dream of a village where the quality of life of the inhabitants is acceptable. I dream of a village one can visit and admire. A village that others can learn from. Is this dream achievable, and if so, how does one go about it?
My thoughts:
I am thinking of mobilizing the village and partners with knowledge, experience and goodwill, in tree planting, creation of income generating activities and in conflict management. I am also thinking of acquiring a brick making machine that does not involve burning of the bricks to reduce on tree cutting and environmental degradation. This machine can also be hired out as an income generating venture. The trees are to be owned and protected by the owner of the land on which the tree is planted, and every tree cut must be replaced.
I am floating these thoughts for guidance to the nabuur family. I hope I am not asking for too much since nothing is on the ground yet.
I will most glad for your comments, suggestions and advice. Thank you!
