As part of the Storyteller Group, it would be nice to work as a team. A team of dedicated people who are eager to find the stories, to create the news, to bring out the project developments to light!

And it all starts with introducing yourself here!

Hi storytellers!

It's been a few weeks since we've touched base and I wanted to check in to see how things are coming along with your stories. Please let me know if any of you are running into difficulty. I hope you've been able to make contact and gather the information you need.

Have a great week!

Jennifer

Here in Uganda it is a world of great extremes. There are countless orphans abandoned everyday all around the country; too many to count and too many to help them all , and then there are the everyday Ugandans who push their survival 30 kilometers up long impossible hills just to feed their families with the cooked banana Motoke.

Then there are the remote village children. Impossibly left behind, without parents stolen from them by aids, typhoid, malaria or worse and they exist as if a life of hard labor, no food, no water, and no medicine is the way it is all over the world. Still they smile exposing the cavity eaten holes in their once beautiful teeth.

In the cities there are those children whose parents have no work and subsist off the land so they can barely feed themselves. Join Mzungu volunteers on a never ending journey, changing and creating a different world for those communities in dare need by connecting them with those who care or are looking for the opportunity to, although challenges exist beyond our ways to help.

Our journeys are worthy to follow, read more about these journeys on http://mzunguvolunteers.blogspot.com/ and our Website http://www.mzunguvolunteers.org , Remember the Universe doesn’t expect us to solve every challenge just challenge ourselves to solve the ones we can!

Iam the founder of a non-profit organization called Safisha Africa Welfare Foundation.Safisha is a local Kiswahili word meaning clean. Our projects are education based to help the poor access quality education.
We offer philanthropic services in a village known as Mowlem slum which is a village surrounded by five slum villages.Have you ever seen big children not in school and are above 7 years?.It happens in mowlem village where even during school hours you can find children walking bare foot, hawking looking for what they will eat during the day and are not in school.Safisha makes it clean for all by volunteering to offer free education services ,feeding program for those poor children who come from very poor families. Its not a surprise that a child has not eaten anything from his or her family and comes to school. Most parents are unable to provide exercise books, pens, uniforms and shoes. To read about our activities chech as on the web www.safishaafrica.org.We are seeking for sponsors who can pay fees for the poor children, volunteer teachers and proposal writers to help us seek donor funding. One child can pay &300 per year. The organization is running a school as safisha africa school and has 65 children.

I am a Computer Administrator, and also study business and legal studies. I leave in Sierra Leone, Freetown. I am happy to be in this great NABUUR family, telling true story of my country and it villages. I will be proud to send many good stories to the organization. It will be in my best interest if I am giving the opportunity to tell a story.

Thanks to the NABUUR team for making this possible

Lily, the blind dog and her trusted buddy, without whom she can't go walkies!

Hi Paul (and everyone)
I am new here, but have years of experience working in the development of projects involving all kinds of people, be they local communities, government agencies, private sector businesses, funding providers, professionals or anyone else not yet involved even! I have had to get groups of volunteers going from the start before now, when it seemed nobody was interested! I have a way of persuading people to say yes or at least to think twice about saying no! ; )

I love working with volunteers and communities who want to change their world for the better somehow, because these are often the nicest people to know, because they care.

I have a passion for conservation, although I nothing of Africa's conservation issues beyond water, poaching, encroachment on land by migrating people or expanding communities and towns and villages.

I have a wide range of skills and knowledge and like to help out when I can. I'm happy to chat online if that helps. Weekends are good times for me (UK time zone!)

Warm wishes Denise

Hi I'm Denise
I live in the Valleys of South Wales in a beautiful rural mountainous area of Britain, where there is a lot of deprivation contrasting all that beauty. I am an ex / (ongoing?) community development worker who is presently looking to build a whole different future for herself after leaving a stuck inthe mud government job. I want to become one of the next internet entrepreneurs, but would settle for a life as a ghost writer / copywriter / proofreader freelancing! I will be embarking on a home based business in the new year after two that have failed so far... But I'm learning!!!
I love to surf. Love nature and am a conservationist who is somewhat lapsed, apart from my garden, which I work hard enough at to ease my conscience!
Love the internet and its power for good. Getting addicted more and more again of late, so with that I'll wish you all goodnight... it's 2.30am for goodness sakes!
I'll upload a picture soon... I have recently had to rebuild my computer after a particularly nasty virus!

Greetings everyone! My name is Isabel and I live in Portugal. I work as a Sales/Customer Service Manager at the private sector. I'm a mother of 2 wonderful girls (7 and 2 years old). Since I spend my day locked up at the office, I'm always eager to find something useful to do, besides my work, whenever I have the time. So, this is my first step at NABUUR and hope it will be a successful and happy journey for both parties!
Cheers.
Isabel

Hi everyone!

My name is Els! I'm a 27-year old mother from the Netherlands and I work fulltime as an expeditor at a fruit-and vegetable company. Like many of you,I spend many of my time stuck behind a desk and I feel I can use the time I have to spare to do something useful for others.
I am more than willing to help with anything, for instance translation of all sorts. I can speak Dutch, English and German for the full 100%.
