Water and sanitation is a major concern around the world. Access to clean drinking water and sanitation solutions is one of the least expensive and most effective ways to improve health and save lives. But, nearly 1.1 billion people worldwide do not have access to improved drinking water supplies and over 2.6 billion live without improved sanitation services. Water and sanitation plays a vital role in all of the other MDGs and development in a community.

The Chair of the United Nations Secretary-General's Advisory Board on Water and Sanitation once said:

"...every dollar spent on sanitation is a dollar spent on at least five other MDGs"

Working towards water and sanitation solutions will increase progress in all other areas.

This group provides a place to share information on water, sanitation and related issues. This is a place to discuss new ideas and share lessons and stories on experiences in your community. It is a place to share information such as links to good sites, water and sanitation materials, training services, and any other relevant information.
