I am not sure that she ever saw them, but wanted to make sure they got answered. Here is a recap of his questions and Grace's responses: 1. What is the rainfall pattern (do you have a long dry spell?) The dry season typically runs from November-early May each year. Dry season can start as early as October. 2. Do you have any surface water nearby (rivers, streams, lakes)? The community currently collects water from a local waterfall which only flows during rainy season. In dry season, things become a lot more difficult. There is a small river where water could be channeled, but because it is so far from the village, it would be very expensive for them to construct something like this. 3. What types of water sources are in the Bamumbu community (shallow wells, ringed wells, etc)? Grace indicated that for now the water source is the waterfall or the river in dry season. People travel to the waterfall very early in the morning to collect water and bring it back to their homes. This is why it is so important for them to complete the well. She also said that there is a single well existing in the community now which service over 500 people. 4. How do people store water in their homes? Grace said that people carry water in pots, buckets, and store it in Tangui containers for drinking later. Tangui containers are a type of popular water bottle in Cameroon. Since the water is not completely purified, they do boil it before drinking and using it to cook. Several months ago Machiel posed the following questions to Grace. I am not sure that she ever saw them, but wanted to make sure they got answered. Here is a recap of his questions and Grace's responses:

1. What is the rainfall pattern (do you have a long dry spell?)

The dry season typically runs from November-early May each year.
