Identify & Develop a List of School Contacts for Networking

Status: Just started
Step:
1

For this task:

  • We are looking for volunteers to help us identify other post-secondary education projects in Uganda that we might be able to learn from.
  • We are also interested in identifying organizations that promote international partnerships between educational institutions.

Please include the organization name and appropriate contact information including address, phone and/or email address.

Mary had previously identified two possible contacts:

1. Christopher, the LR of the Masaka village - Masaka, Uganda.

and

2. Moses, LR of Serere, also in Uganda.

Serere Village page: http://www.nabuur.com/en/village/serere/project/
Okode Moses (Local Rep): http://www.nabuur.com/en/user/okode-moses/profile

I followed up with Augustine on whether or not he had been able to make contact with Christopher since Mary had introduced them via email. He said that he has sent messages to Christopher twice, but has not heard back from him. He hopes that one day he will be able to visit his school in Masaka and learn more about all they have done to develop their facility.

I am uncertain if he's attempted to contact Moses yet, but we can follow up on that.

Hi Augustine

I think that, other than Masaka, most of the Ugandan schools on Nabuur are primary not secondary, as are many of the ones in other countries. You could try posting to the Education group http://www.nabuur.com/en/group/education/project or the Ugandan LRs group to see if any other schools would like to get in touch and share their experience with you.

There are several organisations that can help you find partner schools in other countries, although you will probably need to be up and running first. Several are listed at http://docs.google.com/View?docid=dgs9fnp6_0g5zp8p3n#TWIN_SCHOOLS/PARTNE...
