Review & Edit - Keframa College Website

One of our volunteers, Marina Klimi, created a new website for Keframa College located here:
http://www.websites.designpandorabox.eu/KeframaCollege/index.html
For this task, we are requesting assistance with reviewing the content of the new website and making suggestions for any changes or edits that may be needed. Please list your suggestions here.

Good job, Marina! There are a few little things I think could be changed:
1) you need to put a space after commas, like you would after a period.
2) The description in the left sidebar, though grammatically correct, could be made to flow a little better.
What you've got now:
"Keframa College is a project managed by Mr. Augustine Kezzy Okello and it was initiated by Barr sub-county community members in partnership with Lango Youth Action For Development (LAYAD)."
What you could do is drop the "it":
"Keframa College is a project managed by Mr. Augustine Kezzy Okello and was initiated by Barr sub-county community members in partnership with Lango Youth Action For Development (LAYAD)."
3) I recommend splitting up long paragraphs, to make it easier to read. I'm thinking especially of your "About Us", "Project Details" and "True Story" pages
4) Actually, it looks like "About Us" and "Project Details" have the exact same content. I'd recommend moving the last few sections ("Beneficiaries" and "Project Details") to the Project Details page.
5) The "True Story" page has a typo: The title should read "A True Story", not "A Trues Story"
6) "Volunteer" page: I would split this into very short paragraphs so that people get a quick idea of how they can help, with one requirement per paragraph (construction, teachers, fundraiser, computers, etc...).
7) "Donate" page: On this page, you could also mention what people can give in addition to money (like the computers you mentioned on the volunteer page)
I thought I’d suggest a couple more ideas for the homepage! :)
Under the ‘Welcome’ portion you have a couple minor errors.
First paragraph: “Hardly” should be “hard.”
Fourth paragraph: “Poverty stricken” to “poverty-stricken.”
Fifth paragraph: A bit of a run on sentence (56 words with no commas or periods). Try something like this:
It is against this, that the community is asking for a school run by them in which we can give the remaining youth a chance to a cheaper education. This is a way of fighting off the looming illiteracy rates and future gangsters who will destabilize the community even more if measures are not taken to solve the problem.
Sixth paragraph: “Makinga” to “Making a.”
On your sidebar (the Home, About Us, etc.) I noticed you have a few of the tabs color coded and I really like the result. Perhaps do the rest in color codes?
And finally I noticed you have a Facebook account, maybe set up a twitter account as well so your supporters can follow you and you can follow those who may be able to help you! Check it out: www.twitter.com and if you do set one up I will definitely be following.
Charlie and Nicholas - thanks so much for the suggested edits. I've sent Marina an email to see if she can make the edits on the site.
Charlie - the college is not using Twitter right now. It may be something to consider in the future though.
All the best-
Jennifer
Charlie-
Augustine contacted me today and told me he did check out Twitter and create an account there. You can follow him @KeframaCollege.

Hi!
Haven't had the chance to look through the whole site in detail but am wondering why you have the 'Our Library' page http://www.websites.designpandorabox.eu/KeframaCollege/our_library.html as this does not appear to have anything to do with the school.
It would also be good to have a News page (or a link to a blog) where you can post regular updates on progress. That is a good way to keep supporters up to date with what is happening, while the information on the other pages will probably not change very often once it has been finalised.
Mary
Dear Mary
the library has books that the teachers can download and give to children
the links to the blogs are on the top of the page as far as the news page I will create a page
it is a nice idea
Marina
