Welcome to Nabuur and to Buchanan!

As you will have seen from the information on the Home page, Nabuur links communities in developing counries (known as Villages) with onlien volunteers from around the world (known as Neighbours). Tthrough the Local Representative, the village provides details of their needs (which are posted as tasks on the Project Room page), and volunteers help them find solutions.

Buchanan village is Help Liberia Foundation School, a primary school in Buchanan in Liberia with about 150 students. and Paul Harry is the Local Rep. As you will see, things are quiet at the moment, with no specific tasks for neighbours to work on, but I hope there will be new tasks in the future.

However, there are many other villages who are actively seeking assistance at the moment - have a look at the Villages and Volunteer Opportunities pages where you can search for tasks that interest you. Once you find one that interests you, start posting your ideas. And you should also join the village (just as you have done with Buchanana) as that will make it easier for you to keep track of progress - new postings to villages you are a member of are shown on your My Nabuur page.

Hi,
I have finally managed to visit the school and meet Paul, staff and students this morning. Considering that I live just a couple of miles just outside Buchanan, the time it has taken me sounds ridiculous but I have had to travel out of the country quite a lot over the past months.
Everyone I met in connection with the school today are quite wonderful and I admire their efforts to keep this school running, that includes the students of course.
Much help is needed and I will do my utmost to help where and when I can.
I am looking forward to being part of this inspiring project.
