Research & Identify Options For Obtaining Other School Equipment

Bukoggolwa Secondary School also wants to offer students subjects and/or activities that they can start using to generate some income for their household. Workshops such as carpentry, organic agriculture and sewing among others.
The school would like to obtain equipment such as:
- Computers and Printers
- Projectors
- Sewing machines
- Carpentry tools, welding machines
- Motor-vehicle technical tools
- Agricultural supplies (tractor and farm tools)
For this task we wouls like volunteers to help us research and identify options in which these materials could be obtained.

Hi!
Unfortunately I am not able to get actively involved with another village at the moment, but I thought I would post and suggest that you may be interested in having a look at the discussions in Masaka - http://www.nabuur.com/en/village/masaka/project
Notre Dame school in Masaka, Uganda is also a secondary school built by the local community, which is hoping to start vocational training next year as well.
We are discussing many of the same issues - finding books, equipment, funding etc for the school, transport options (bicycles), and looking at ways for the school to earn income for itself.
Also, some of the organisations on the list I have created at http://docs.google.com/View?docid=dgs9fnp6_0g5zp8p3n may be able to provide you with books and supplies.
Mary

It is now upon all of us how we can acquire these books in numbers through fundraising strategies and
voluntary contributions from potential donors and other sources.
So, we should work as a Team to realise objectives of acquiring these books and also putting in
place a school library for effective reading and learning. There we shall be encouraging the young
generation to have a culture of reading.
