Stop the spread of malaria in busukuma
In Busukuma, a huge majority of people living down there die of malaria. It should not happen as prevention and treatment is truly possible. However, until now, the awareness of prevention measures and treatment options is low. On the other hand, if nothing is done, the large part of the village community will continue to be affected and in the result to die. Statistically, over 60% of the population of Busukuma suffers from malaria. Most of them do not survive! :cry:malaria is the most seriouse parasitic disease in the world, which occurs in tropical regions.each year 300-500million people are infected and over amillion people die as aresult of this infection. most of malaria cases( about 90%) occur in sub sahara africa.CHILDREN under the age of 5and pregnant mothers are the most volunarebles of the disease,often leading to death.Malaria is endemic in 95%OF Uganda is avery seriuose healty problem that currently posses the most significant threat to the peoples quality life.Malaria is aparasite spread by anopheles mosquito, easily affecting people. The symptom include fever,headache,nauses and vomitting, body inches,chillis,sweats,general maralaise, as well as more seroiuse symptoms such as anaemia,enlarged liver,seizures,coma,organ failure and kidney failure to name but a few.However malaria is preventable,since Anopheles mosquito tend to be out at night,most infections occur between 10pm and 5am.By sleeping under insect treated nets(ITNS) the risk of malaria is infection is greatly reduced. in addition ,increasing awareness and knowledge is abig factor in reducing the spread of malaria.To adress this factor,community members have organised aplan to adress this situation.The community would like to introduce an wareness campaign.All activities will be conducted by local community members, voluteers and through community based organisations.Training will be provided to voluteers and we will work closely with healthy care workers in Busukuma.
