VERTIVER SYSTEMS TRAINING
VERTIVER SYSTEMS TRAINING
DATE: 2 FEB 2010
VENUE: BUNGA, KAMPALA (EMAIL FOR SPECIFIC ADDRESS)
TIME: 14:00 HRS
TRAINER: MR KASOZI GODFREY FROM CENTRE FOR ENVIROMENT TECHNOLOGY AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT.
Dear Ugandan neighbours, you are all invited to attend the above training for we know it is beneficial to every village. The problem that we had with this technology was the initial expense, so far that has been overcome so please come gain knowledge and also register for stem and root cuttings as they will be distributed to only 20 individuals according to regions. Our aim is to spread this system far and wide and in a very short period so your assistance is required.
There is no fee to be paid as our only request is you provide others in your region with cuttings and knowledge of vertiver so that it can play its part in poverty eradication.
Examples of vertiver uses are:
forage, stabilisation of soils, prevention of erosion, roofing, handcraft, increased soil fertility etc
Hope to see you all soon, attached is more information about vertiver systems.
Kindly confirm attendance at: sliuganda@googlemail.com

I have known about this for decades. Organic, no-till in permanent beds is a much better way to farm. I have seen a farm with a 70º slope and with 0 eroison. It is not necessary to buy anything.
Hi Ken, the thing is it isnt just about agriculture, its about the other uses that are of benefit to the farmers. The grass can make thatch and leaves and roots handcrafts. For example on our pig farm, we are going to use vertiver to help with the removal of effluent in a pond.
