Content The Marie Antoinette Carlier Fund was established to contribute to the further development of the African continent. It will therefore give financial support to local projects in the field of education, health and water, targeting young people in Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). To identify which initiatives to support, the Carlier Fund is launching a first call for projects. Applications will be considered admissible only if they comply with the procedure, respect the conditions and are received before the 9th of April 2010 at the right e-mail address. Amount Submitted projects can cover a period from 1 to 3 years. The maximum amount of support available for a project in Burundi is €30,000 a year. In the DRC, financial support will vary between €30.000 and €200.000 a year. The funds allocated must be entirely invested in the project. The Management Committee of the Fund will determine the precise amount of funding. Who can be a Carlier Fund intermediary? - Intermediaries are individuals. - Intermediaries must have sound knowledge of the political, socio-economic and cultural background, developmental challenges, etc. in Congo (DRC) and/or Burundi. - Intermediaries submitting a project are not obliged to play a specific role in the implementation of the project. - Anyone interested in taking up this role of intermediary is kindly requested to give the required information in the ‘intermediary part’ of the standard application form Target group * Attention: A project manager cannot submit a proposal him or herself, and should therefore make an appeal to a “nominator”.
