Info on which brainstormed ideas are being carried out
Status:

The local team, Jean-Claude and Antje will take 2-3 days to decide which of the fundraising ideas you suggested will actually be carried out.
We'll inform you here on 25-02-2008 on our decision and its reasons.

For a summary of all your wonderful ideas, please visit the "our results" section.
Antje
Dear all,
the local volunteers have formed small groups that will do a concert, a car wash and a garage sale or perhaps a raffle!
In the meantime Krystal and I will prepare a text for the mass e-mail, discuss it with Jean-Claude and send it out.
And we'll try to register with www.givemeaning.com to make it easy to collect small donations. So voting for Buterere on givemeaning will be a new task in just a few days. We're counting on your votes!
We'll keep you informed on all the results.
If you have any ideas how to fundraise for one or two (or more) computers, please add your suggestions to the computer task. The local team needs a computer (used or new) very urgently.
Other than that, we'd be extremely happy if you would organize your own fundraising event for Buterere in your country. If you'd like to do that, please contact us and we'll provide you with all the information you need to tell people about the project.
If you'd like to stay informed about Buterere, please, register to receive our Newsletter.
We're sure to post more tasks in the near future...
Best wishes
Antje
Antje Hi,
I am from Nigeria and I think one of the major challenge with Buterere is getting the computers there.
I work with a firm where I could get them old PCs and they could be donated to the project.
But how do I ship it to you guys?
Except if u insist on laptops, even that I could get some which are out of production.
So if you know how it can be shipped from PH in Nigeria to Kenya, I do be willing to help by God's grace. The items are bulky as well.
Dear Akintunde,
This is great news!!
I’ll discuss it with Jean-Claude immediately.
Warm regards
Antje
P.S. I’m moving your contribution to the computer task. I hope you don’t mind…
Dear Jean-Claude,
I attach some new fundraising ideas that Kofi has shared in another thread. Please take a look, discuss them with the local team and let us know what the local team decided.
Warm regards,
Antje
Dear neighbours,
a mass e-mail has been sent to the Canadian charities whose e-mail addresses you have researched. Please find the e-mail attached.
Unfortunately so far no positive responses...
Warmly
Antje
You can vote for Buterere here: http://www.givemeaning.com/proposal/buterere - follow the "Vote Now" procedures (top left).
We need 100 votes in 30 days for our proposal to be accepted.
Once it is accepted people can donate to Buterere via Givemeaning.
Jean-Claude is currently correcting the text and once this is done we'll create a special voting task and invite more neighbours to vote.
Warmly,
Antje

As I said, we shall be in Bujumbura from 2nd May-9th May, 2008. We need different youth groups and fellowships etc where we can show these christian films to them. They basically address youthful lust, premarital sex and general youth problems.
