All it takes is just adding the web address as your e-mail signature, posting the link on your website, advertising in any way you can think. the more awareness that is created, the more likelihood we will have of finding a few donors to help us meet our goals.

A small feedback might help here:

- due to the frequent viral attacks on computer systems in all global regions, and also frequent and enhanced advice provided by internet security professionals, there is a growing awareness among the users on safety issues. One of the basic precautions that informed people exercise is - not to click on unfamiliar links, even if sent by someone they trust.

To get over this handicap, it might become necessary to provide supplementary information to the link, with the hope that this additional information might compel the readers to click on the link, despite all the security warnings.

This is a good point Vijai. So do you think I should change the wording of this task altogether? Or just create a sentence or two to be attached to the bottom of an e-mail?

Hi Anna- this task caught my attention!

I have visited the GiveMeaning site and I see you have reached your 100 votes and fundraising has started. I am confused though as to how much money you are trying to raise as on this Nabuur page you have said USD750 however on the Givemeaning site it says $2000. It's important to correct this as you are more likely to have luck in raising $750 rather than $2000.
We used Give Meaning for some small fund raising for Garden earlier this year. We were successful in raising $440. I wrote personal emails with a short description of why were seeking support to about 100 Neighbours on Nabuur (just picked the most active ones randomly) and I also sent out about 50 emails to all my friends ( and re-sent when we had rasied 50%). I posted on my Facebook account and we Tweeted it too. I also wrote regular News items telling everyone how we were doing- this helped to drum up support and new neighbours too.

Anna, As Carolyn has mentioned in her post above, the success achieved by her was probably due to adequate text in her messages explaining the legitimacy of the givemeaning link. I have also suggested something similar in my post above.

2) Click the 'Spread the Word' link at the top left corner of our project page. From there you can enter all the email addresses of your friends/family/etc

3) Click the "Blog this Project' link at the top left corner of our project page. Post the link to your blog.

Ideally we would like to raise $2,000 (USD) but the $750 of that is an immediate need (ie: to make rent payments, to continue running BCDC projects for the impoverished community, to host a conference in Burundi to create awareness of our projects)

I get, you were suggesting to take out the link at out OBJECT in this discussion (the link was exposed to the dangers....). Sure, that's a way we were both (I and Facilitator) thinking can help to promote Buterere at Givemeaning to achieve goal, but an other valuable volunteer has suggested other ways, that I recently appreciated.
