[title] => Re: Meet the neighbours
[body] => Dear Neighbours,
A warm welcome to Bweyogerere Village. I am a local representative of a sub-urban community about 8 km to the East of Kampala along the Kampala- Jinja highway. our village is at cross-roads between a surging city and the diminishing rural villages in Wakiso district.
Alongside this are the challenges of environmental management (poor waste management practices, groundwater pollution and climate change) as well as livelihoods among the jobless (youths and women).
These are issues that we are poised to address in my village together with the village youths, school going children, low income communities and local leaders. Later on, we will work with other community-based organisations to scale-up this approach in other sub-urban communities similar to Bweyogerere.
If you would like to join us in addressing this important project please do not hesitate to do so. The doors are wide open and we will value your support.

Njeleza initiative is a community based organisation and our task is to work with the communities in improving our welfare in the areas of health, Agriculture, Economical empowerment for for women headed families and child rights.
Currently, we have successifully finalised irrigation project to improve economic status. We envisage to set up a market place so that we add value to our produce other than selling to vendors who buy at a very low prices.
on health, we have a very big challenge on safe motherhood. Our country is rated high on infant motality rate and deaths associated with giving birth for mothers. The recent research done by the College of Medicine indicates that these deaths occur because mothers have to travel long distances to access healthy facilities. as a result, most of them give births within their houses without any assistance from midwife or nurse sometimes on their way to hospital. The communities are prepared to provide local resources for construction of clinic such as bricks and labour. But they are limited to other essential items for a good and approved health facility.
We think this is a very big problem and we hope through Nabuur, we should be able to benefit through exchange of ideas.
