They are self reliant people who do not rely on goverment efforts to provide food for their families.They grow crops like maize,vegitables and many other crops for consumption and selling to earn a living. They also crush stones for sell and also bananas, cassava, sweetpotatoes,
beans and many other valuable products.

However, their staple food basically is NSHIMA. Despite all this hunger, illiteracy and poverty still remains the main problems the village is facing.
They are perculiar and fan part of these people is the fact that they like and enjoy visitors, volunteers, neighbours and other interested parties to come and visit them and have a special or traditional way of welcoming them locally known as NKWASI (heavy clap) meaning come again.
