Do you want to combine it with building the school or is it something seperate?

I personally think we should not take to much at once. We already have problems finding neighbours who want to contact organisations for funds and overall problems finding funds.
So I think we should stay with building the school and if we receive enough funds we can start concentrating on the HIV/Aids issue (I know that this is a very important issue, but as mentioned before we should not do to much at once).

What is you opinion or do I not understand it the right way?

Building the school is indeed a priority, and for this, money is needed. However, we need to demonstrate to potential donors that we have a plan of action for this school once it is built and that's where we need to show that we know what will be done there.

We already know a lot about the building and this is good. I believe this building is based on another previously built building. Do we have pictures? it is important to show that we can built a sound school!

I joined the project at a later stage and maybe all of this has been discussed already, so pardon me if I restart an old discussion.

We don't need to go deep into the details of our plan but I think we should provide two very important information:
1.what we want to do.
2.how we are going to do it
and this for each field the school will be working in.

If I am right, the centre is about Education and Health. So we already have two sections to describe.

Education:
-who is concerned? children, adults, age range, coming from where?
- what will be taught ? basic learning and reading skills? life skills? advanced skills?
-how the teaching will be done? Local teacher? international volunteers?

Health:
-What area are concerned? HIV/AIDS? Tropical diseases? Water born diseases? general hygiene?
-Will the centre offer health service? Counseling? HIV testing?
- how and by who will this be done?

These are some of the questions potential funders would ask before putting money in. But as I said, we don't need yet a detailed plan and content but at least general orientation and ideas on how to proceed.

How to do this? Well, as you say, finding Nabuur volunteer is not easy, but I believe we have friends and people who know? Most importantly who amongst us know about education in Africa? How it works? and I think that where we have to work very closely with Innocent and other similar community like Kiliba where they already have a school up and running.

So what I would suggest is to have two action running. One about providing content for the website, the second about drafting the Health and Education programme for the centre.

As we get closer to a programme, we can start contacting organization. But I believe this will be very hard work because funding does not work this way usually...

Yes i do agree with you about current problem w e're going through.But the information mentioned here is required to be included in the proporsal so every one knows what we will be doing and so important to donors.This will also help Barb to prepare a good and attractive project plan to donors so they knpw what we will offer apart from building the school.Meanwhile the current issue remains on finding funds to build a school.Hope i have made it clear now.So we have to find someone to do this so we demostrate aplan of action and briefly explainor describe what our services shall be.

Hope this could be useful, but if you want to convince donors we will also needs stats about HIV in the community, or a least in Zambia or why we think it is important!
