Hello everyone!

I’m Alberto Marin, Albert for short. I’m from the small but beautiful country of Philippines. I’m 18 yrs. old and currently at my 3rd year of studying BA Sociology in the University of the Philippines Los Banos. Before anything else, I’m so glad that I’ve found this kind of website. I was desperately looking for an opportunity to be a volunteer for awhile now. I can’t even understand why I have this urge to help people, see them living in a society where they do not feel deprived of anything else, and let them feel equal treatment that everyone’s receiving.

I’m a newbie here and still don’t know how this website works, but if there’s anything I could do for this group (village) just let me know. Despite of being a student, I want to show others how small efforts can bring big changes in the world. Besides, having this kind of privileged, which is having an access into a much higher secondary education, is a good advantage and edge in serving thousands of people–that I can definitely be proud of.

Long hours of class discussion, mental torturing exams, and hard-to-gain passing grades aren’t enough to make you understand the world you’re living. As sociology majors, we are trained to reach out to other people, understand the different contexts they are living in, helping them realize their present conditions, and offering alternatives on what to do about it through constant generation of public knowledge by conducting and publishing scientific sociological research papers.

I’m so sorry if I don’t happen to introduce myself very well. I hope I could give a great service to your village and I’m looking forward in working with you people. Whatever you think I can do just let me know. But whatever happens, I just want to let you know that I’m thanking you and all of those people behind this “humanistic masterpiece” for the continuous help you give to millions and millions of people out there.

I pray that you won’t stop inspiring others and making those people’s dreams come true.
