PROJECT ROOM-A Place for General Project Updates and Information
Status:

This space will be used for general project updates. Updates on discussions with our local representative, Min, will be posted to keep everyone as informed as possible with what is going on with our project.
If information does not fit nicely with one of the tasks noted above, this is the place to post it.

Hi everyone-
I got to speak with Min earlier today. He is presently in Surkhet and plans to be back in Kathmandu tomorrow. He said he has taken many pictures and was able to get them developed. He will scan them so we can post updates once he returns.
We talked a little more about getting volunteers to come to Nepal and help on the ground. Min is very interested in gaining this type of support for ECC.
We also spoke briefly about the ECC blog site and may transfer the information to Google Blogs instead. Ultimately, it is easier for Min to access/maintain because he won't have to worry about the formatting issues that are so often problematic with Wordpress. Min said that he would post more updates when he arrives home.
I spoke with Sabina earlier this week to get an update on the winter clothes. The weather has warmed now in Nepal, but she tells me that the women are almost completely done with the mufflers. She provided an estimated date of completion for these plus the sweaters for the end of April.
More updates to follow once Min returns.
All the best-
Jennifer
Hi Jennifer
I will be heading to Kathmandu from Melbourne in mid April. I will try to meet up with Min and see the project site. Do you suggest any resources I should take with me? I can take pictures with my digital camera and will have a laptop with me.
I am setting up a permaculture project in Dolakha, the village of Junga. I will be touring around Nepal visiting different NGOs with sustainable farming projects, school construction and latrine projects. This is with a project team made up of permaculturalist and outdoor education experts. I am helping to set up a trekking NGO in Melbourne, we will direct profits to fund community projects in Nepal. These would be our own, but it would be quicker to support existing projects as well.
This school year, Shanoe, Ilham, Roby, Nabil and Farah, 5 students at the Libanon Lyceum have been working on a project to help the people of Gamauli with the school construction project. Attached you will find copies of the work that they did on their project.
We thank you for the time and effort you've put into the project.
Kind regards-
Jennifer
Dear Shanoe, Ilham, Roby, Nabil and Farah
Thanks a lot for your kind service and contribution. I think it will keep great meaning in this project. Please try to be a volunteer team for ECC and ECC is working for Gamauli. Then we can contribute to the needu village.
I appreciate your work.
Regards
Min
Dear all,
As some of you know by now, due to work and relocation issues, Jennifer Wells had to step down from facilitating. She'll be greatly missed, and we appreciate all the efforts she has put in with the project.
Best of luck Jennifer, and we hope to see you online in the near future!
In the meantime, we'll recruit for a new facilitator. Will keep you updated.
