May 2010 Update on Garden

News of wins and dreams for the kids of YOSOFO and Garden.

Today I received this good news from Local Rep Mulenga: "More good news is that Yofoso this year won first prize in the The Barefeet Festival's drama section. It was all smiles when the guys brought home the trophy they won. All their hard work and effort finally paid off."

So whilst things have been quiet here on Nabuur, the guys at YOSOFO have been keeping busy.
Currently we are trying to raise about USD$700 to send 6 kids to the FIFA World Cup to see a live match. It would make their dreams come true! You may wonder why this is important. Football has been a great outlet for the kids of Garden. By playing this team sport in an organised way they have learnt about team work, good sportsmanship and how to be confident. Mulenga has grand plans for using football as a way of engaging the wider Garden community- so stay tuned.
If you can spare some $$ towards making some dreams come true then contact me here at Nabuur.(check out the Video on You Tube: Dreams Come True-Garden, Zambia)
Best wishes
Carolyn and Mulenga
