The purpose of the library is to give the youth a chance to develop themselves. Nowadays, that wouldn't be complete without the chance to learn about computers, the chance to browse the internet and connect to the world. We have been lucky to have on PC installed but it is in high demand. We also need a compatable printer.

Please help Garden Library find at least one more computer and a printer which is urgently needed.

We have had to make a few changes to what and how we are doing things. First we will be sending funds to purchase the printer locally instead of shipping. But I will be shipping some books, a new CD drive and a USB card. Regarding how and who is shipping. Going into Lusaka is not so easy. Since it is land-locked, smaller items get shipped by air, at least from North America. There was apparently a backlog at the airport so finding an actual broker was difficult. I am using a local shipping agent/broker that arranges everything and then clears the items through customs. A letter of donation is required from the donating agency, with the statement of value of the items. If no value is assigned, customs will assign one, not in our favour and then you pay tax/duty on it. I think the best way to go is to find a shipping agent/broker. There are tons of them around the world. They figure out the best way to get there and the least expensive. Some even give discounts for charitable organizations/causes.
