I am attaching a copy of our draft programmes that we carry out at our Social Centre.
Carolyn please check the wiki for the Library Plan task for the type of books we need for our Library and also some other information.
Under the Sport programme we now have two soccer teams one for boy and the other for girls.The team is called Young Gunners.We also play a lot of table Tennis and Chess.
Under the literacy programme we are completing the Library soon together with our education support programme,under play,we now have a cultural and Drama Group while under the Psycho-social angle we have a mobile Clinic coming for the kids every Tuesday and also our current community sensitise on child to street draft.
Comments on the attached document are most welcome,as the will help us improve our services to the children and the community as a whole.

you have mentioned this - sensitise on child to street draft- a couple of times in your comments. Could you please explain to us what this means? I haven't heard about it before and am curious about it. What does it do for the kids?
I hope to post a draft version of the application to Feed The Minds by the weekend, for comment and review by other Neighbours. I think if we aim for a small grant (maybe £2000) to include the purchase of a number of books and a part-time salary for 12 months for a librarian we could have a good case!

Thank you for your input and welcome on board.At this time we are looking for smaller shipments of books and computers. Some organizations match the shipping cost so that would mean that we need to pay for 50%. To get started we'd need to get $1,000 US to send our first shipment.

I just read the news that Mulenga Mulenga has been successful in getting the grant! That's brilliant and exciting news- I'm sure this means that the library is going to progress very quickly.

Hello Everyone,
I am attaching a copy of our draft programmes that we carry out at our Social Centre.
Carolyn please check the wiki for the Library Plan task for the type of books we need for our Library and also some other information.
Under the Sport programme we now have two soccer teams one for boy and the other for girls.The team is called Young Gunners.We also play a lot of table Tennis and Chess.
Under the literacy programme we are completing the Library soon together with our education support programme,under play,we now have a cultural and Drama Group while under the Psycho-social angle we have a mobile Clinic coming for the kids every Tuesday and also our current community sensitise on child to street draft.
Comments on the attached document are most welcome,as the will help us improve our services to the children and the community as a whole.

you have mentioned this - sensitise on child to street draft- a couple of times in your comments. Could you please explain to us what this means? I haven't heard about it before and am curious about it. What does it do for the kids?
I hope to post a draft version of the application to Feed The Minds by the weekend, for comment and review by other Neighbours. I think if we aim for a small grant (maybe £2000) to include the purchase of a number of books and a part-time salary for 12 months for a librarian we could have a good case!

By community sensitisation on Child to street draft,we simply me that we raise awarness about the problem of children leaving or running away from home to the streets and engage the community into talking and coming up with ways of helping in preventing this draft as we all are affected by it.I am just waiting for this week's meeting with local teachers before i post something about this programme for the neighbours.

Yes we have a centre in place,though it may not be that big and you can read about the programmes that we have of which the library falls under our Literacy Development programme.
