I found that there is a not-for-profit organization, called "Computer Aid International" and they have two headquarters - one in London and the other in Nairobi. Computer Aid International provides professionally refurbished computers to educational institutions. It looks like there is a charge of about $65 per computer, if there is no shipping. Most of their shipping is done from London, but perhaps that could be waived if you could work with the Nairobi office. They do not have laptops, and they warn that refurbished laptops often do not have very good battery life at all, so often times a desktop is better.
