Hi Dennis
Is there any reason that you want to create your own training materials, and a system for running tests, instead of using stuff that is already out there?
I am no expert on this, but many computer training places must already be doing what you want to do, so can't you get hold of a copy from them?
Mary

Hi Ngwanyam Adolf
I cannot help you directly - the discussion here is for Gulu village in Uganda and is related to setting up an ICT training centre. You are very welcome to join us here and share ideas with Dennis the Local Representative of Gulu and the other neighbours (online volunteers).
Also have a look at some of the other Villages (go to the Villages and Volunteer Opportunities links at the top of the page) and Groups. You will find othes who are working on similar issues to you.
Nabuur is all about connecting people, and you will find that you can learn a lot from communicating with others who have similar interests and needs around the world.
Hi Geoff
Thanks for the link! Dennis should be able to check it out when he is online. Do you have experience of teaching IT skills? If so that will be very helpful here!
If either of you would like to be involved with the Gulu village discussion, click on the Join link at the right hand side of the page. This will add you as a neighbour of the village, then any new posts will appear on your My Nabuur screen which will make it easier for you to follow the discussion.
Mary
Yes, I've lots of experience at training people and quite a bit in IT training too. Some off it product specific and also some MS stuff. For the qualification I went through the CDL course and its very straightforward. As I recall its all self learning with assessment tests.

Thanks for that Info, suggesting usage of already existing Tutorials, and i quite see it is easy that way (i checked out through the CD some years ago), although i havent read out well the licences, what it says about copying more CDs.
But i suggest the simulation has to be that suitablefor the kind of people in this community.
Thanks,
Dennis
From what I see the online course avoids the issue of licences and copying. If online access is aproblem course work seems to be a mixture of PDF and MS word which is easily put on disk.

I am soon hoping to set up a website fior Omega ICT, and on which I can hyperlink to those sites with tutorials.
So if there are some really cool tutorials, especially those easily understandable to a moderately or less educated learner, you can send me the links, so that as we plan for the website, we shall have assessed which of those links we can put up on the site.
Thanks

Pragmatically, the only address you need is http://www.teach-ict.com/index.html.
Here there are a wide variety of courses.
It is there now and does not require a website for people to access it.
There are tutorials there.
My opinion is that they are quite likely to be uncool but simple and straightforward.
Whether they are actually cool or not is down to the user.
Maybe the end result will decide!
