Help Define Income Generation Activities to Support the School

We are considering all possible means of income generation to help our school and the students that we serve. We are seriously considering income-generation activities such as raising poultry, establishing a demonstration garden at the school and teaching tailoring and/or other artisan skills to our students.
We need help determining which activities would be the best to pursue and help setting up projects for the activities chosen so that we can define what is needed to get started. Please share your advise and/or questions with us. We hope to benefit from the experience and knowledge of our online volunteers as we work to establish sound income-generating activities.

You have mentioned poultry, demonstration garden, tailoring, and other artisan skills. You could start with identifying here your core competence in each of these areas, like - skilled, semi-skilled, unskilled. This will help neighbors to determine the content of their advice.
For example, if you indicate your core competence of gardening as 'unskilled', neighbors will know they have to start advice from the very basics of farming for their advice to be understood and implemented. Whereas if you indicate core competence in gardening as 'skilled', neighbors can start the discussion at an advanced level without wasting any time on the basics.
In case you are not ready yet to identify your skill levels, you could follow discussion threads at a few other villages on nabuur where similar efforts are being made to identify income generation activities. You might get plenty of ideas from interacting with these villages, and this might help you to choose a direction of your own.
