Great Pictures from Isalo

Dear Neighbours,
Please take a look at some new pictures from Isalo during the Parents meeting day. The children from Primary one upto primary four are still studying under the tree due to the limited classroom.
The block of three classroom is accommodating primary four to primary seven. This problem is causing poor bringing up of the children and consequently leading to poor performance of the pupil.

Till you arrange additional classrooms, you could also explore the possibility of classes in shifts.
The timings of each shift could be made to suit children of different age groups.
Hence, if you have 3 classrooms, and 7 classes at present, you could start functioning in 3 shifts. This will create an additional capacity to handle more students within the same 3 classrooms.
More students will obviously mean more earnings for your school.
Obviously, the existing teachers may have to work longer, or you may have to appoint more teachers. Their salaries can be managed from the additional earnings from the greater number of students.

Hello Vijai,
We do appreciate your added perspective on dealing with classroom shortage. A little problem will be that many of the children will end up dropping out of school going to the neighbouring lake to fish or go hunting in the bush! The income levels of the community are extremely low (forget about a dollar a day or that talk) so the school depends on the free government program for children to study. In that case, more numbers to not increase school income. That is why increasing community earnings is also our great need.

For Isalo
Hello Twoli,
In the 'free government program for children to study' as you have mentioned - does the government provide to the school a certain amount of money per child?
If yes, then the school gets more money from the government if they have more students.
My suggestion for classes in shifts will help the school to enroll more students, and hence get more money from the government, without increasing the number of classrooms.
To ensure the students do not drop out, you could adjust the timings so that they can conveniently attend the classes.
In addition, you could boost your earnings through other programs in the school like adult literacy (late evenings or night), library (late evenings or night), internet cafe (late evenings or night), etc.
