Mosquito nets distributed in Jinja

Jinja central after loosing one of its work mates of malaria today they they got a donation of mosquito nets from USA.

It was unbelievable after many years since we lost one of our staffs and a friend of the killer disease Malaria in 2008 we did come up with a task to fight the deadly killer disease by getting mosquito nets it limped on till now. We got some friends who promised but it never happened till today one friend and a mother of the needy came up and donated 60 Mosquito nets to the PWDs in Jinja. I need to take this opportunity to thank Virginia Ellsworth for the BIG heart she has for the needy who came up and revived the Task.

Thank you all for the support and love you have always shown Jinja Central. More thanks to the efforts of VIRGINIA that you can of your small income and you share it with us be Blessed.

As always Paul, it is my pleasure to work with you and to help those less fortunate than I am. There are no mosquitos here!!! No malaria!!!! I will sleep better tonight knowing that I have helped to save 60 of my brothers and sisters from Malaria. I wish there were more big hearts with purses much larger than mine - and we could end malaria tomorrow.

Looks very promising, ken. I am passing the info onto Rick Ellis from Canada who will be living in Kameke for about a year. Perhaps he can get an idea of how many pregnant women and young children need the nets in the surrounding villages to ask for a large shipment, which might actually work better than just 6o or 100 - we'll see.

Hi Ken,
This is great if we could get these mosquito nets do they deliver to the beneficiaries?
If no then it might be like the previous years people got mosquito nets but failed to transport them to Uganda. What Virginia's idea was to try and help the few she can to reverse the death toll than waiting for the big consignment which would take years in 2008 Mary got information from Uganda that there was a donation of mosquito nets in Uganda of about 17,000,000 nets but till now we have never got them. http://www.nabuur.com/en/village/jinja-central/project/task/arrange-ship... so if we can help where we can i think it can work than waiting for a big consignment. In Mawoito it was a miracle to get mosquito nets people never believed what they saw, in Jinja even the political people couldn't believe and even the District Community Development officer commented about the heart of people who can sacrifice of the little they have to help the needy, so what i would request if there is a way we can get them it needs team work with your support to any local village to get these mosquito nets.

Paul, I am sorry to say I have heard no follow through from Simon Peter calling the Kampala office - unfortunately, when I send info/message/requests out to villagers, I don't always know where to find the source again. I think it was the place in Kampala that Ken mentioned, but I can't easily access the info. Perhaps you could call Simon Peter and ask him if he has/has lost the number and if he has called and what is the info. Thanks Paul. I wish I could make these calls myself, but it's very hard with the time difference- and sending emails does not seem to be as effective. I believe Emmanuel in Wakitakk also has the info as I knew he is in school in Kampala.
