It seems to me that the best people to write about BEHOD, its members, projects, and life in Jinja will be Paul and other members?

It should be possible to create some pages with fairly fixed information which will not change very often (although it will need to be kept up to date), and use the blog section of the site for regular news updates.

Once they have the computers it should be fairly easy for them to do this, with Paul taking the info to the internet cafe and either posting directly to BEHOD website or emailing to whoever maintains the site?

Pelle has some stories about Jinja and would like some one to edit them .
Thank you for the advise i believe it will work and iwill be in possition to be sending the latest info to that one who will be willing to edit and update the blog.

I don't know anything about how the site is set up, but you may be able to update the blog yourelf? I know other Nabuur-related websites where this works well. It puts everything under your control!

What needs editing with the current stories? I don't have any website experience but I may be able to help.

Are the Dutch students still working on addiing to the site?

Congratulations to "Team Jinja Central"! Yet another milestone reached successfully: a website to serve as BEHOD's window to the world. Brilliiant!

Jennifer, very good piece.:) Would you be willing to incorporate Mary's idea, in your role as editor: that we make it a forum for the BEHOD members to tell the world their stories and keep us abreast with BEHOD's activities?

You could then work with them - and edit their contributions to ensure the website has a more professional look, perhaps? Regards to all Jinja Central neighbours!

Glad you accept to edit pieces submitted by BEHOD members in Uganda. But that should not preclude you posting activities involving yourself (and other online neighbours!), too.

For example, if you were to organise a fundraising event, such as you and your friends emulating the dynamic Pelle, and taking part in a fun-run [marathon, perhaps?:)] - and getting friends and family to support you, or hold car boot sales during the summer, you could post it: to encourage other online neighbours to do same!

You are far too good a writer to just stick to editing - we want to read interesting pieces from you too, Jennifer! So: "Over to you, Joe Lartey." - as we say in Ghana. And just as a matter of interest: only Ghanaians of a certain generation use that phrase - so it dates one. :)

PS Mr. Joe Lartey was one of Ghana's finest sports commentators - and whenever his colleagues (whose command of the English language, wasn't nearly as good as that of the erudite Joe Lartey) were about to hand over the microphone to him, they would use that phrase.

And every football fan listening to their radio, to the commentary of the match, would heave a sigh of relief: for, they knew, that a more vivid picture of the match, would be evoked in their minds eye, as the redoubtable Mr. Joe Lartey, assumed commentary!

Well done Jennifer - you are certainly proving that we are lucky to have you in charge of the website. Brilliant work -bravo!

Paul - any news on the fund-raising front? Perhaps you can get somewhere with the Indian community, if you were to reach them by working through the Indian High Commission in Uganda.

I know from experience, here in Ghana, that Indian diplomatic missions abroad, value highly, the charitable work, done locally, by Indian expatriates, in the countries they have diplomatic relations with. So that is food for thought for you and Pelle.

Hmmm, and Pelle, Kofi Thompson knows just how busy you are -but being a rather old-fashioned sort of fellow, he always expects those he regards as perfect gentlemen, to remember to keep their word - even one as charming, hardworking, and generous-spirited, as you!

May I just remind you, with the greatest sense of humility, Pelle, that you did promise, to ensure, that my personal blog's URL link, would be added, to my www.nabuur.com profile?

Hello neighbors,
To be honest i have been moving up and down to see that the school begins and have not yet contacted the Indian community but i will try and these days am not having transport so i have to raise from some where to go to any destination :-D .
This very week on Tuesday i was in the office of the commissioner in the ministry for Gender wanting to seek advise on how i can register with the Ministry of Education about the school, and as you know we have not yet got enough support to fund all the projects so we are working on a voluntary basis , where we can we go where we can't we don't.
The fund raising for the photo copier is not yet whoever can help please feel free as Pelle told you i went and asked for the old computer and that was the price.
Rev. Jackie O'Neals advised me on the paypal account to start raising some support it is a good idea and i also requested my facilitator to open it on our web site so that when we get anything then he can withdraw and transfer it to Uganda
So please any more ideas and advise are welcome. :-) :-) :-)
