freedom to update our web site

we need to participate in updating our own web site at any time and below are some of the thing we wold like to do in our web site
There are several non-profit organizations needing assistance worldwide. If we are going to be successful we will need to sell ourselves to the individuals and organizations that make grants and small donations. When foundations are deciding which organizations to fund they have a meeting. The members take into consideration the funds available for donations. Like us they address the goals and objectives of the requesting agency to determine if they align with their own. Who is the organization? Where are they located? What are their objectives? Why did they choose the objective? When will the project begin and end? How will the objectives of the project be tracked and measured to determine if the goal was reached? Based on the information in front of them, a decision is made concerning the funding.
Our website is simply an electronic grant request. Often the initial or only communication an individual may obtain about your organization is through your web. Therefore, the website should tell the world what makes Revelation Children Ministries International so special and our needs so urgent that they should chose our organization over all of the others.
Here are some things that we can do to make our website better and provide open communication for grant donors and individuals who want to know if we are making any progress.
1. Action Item: Update the website with more current information.
Write a little story about what we have done recently or a specific project we are working on. I have been watching the website for over a year now. I haven’t seen any new information to reflect what the organization has done to make progress. Most of the changes on the website reflect what our donors have done for us. I know you are working very hard!!
Tip: Let other’s know more about the hard work you are doing on your website. What is your typical day like? What you have done, are currently doing, or plan to do to help others. Be specific. The actions (tasks) don’t have to be all big things, sometimes it’s the little things that count. Can you think of something specific that you have done recently that would make an interesting story for the website? Maybe you have a little story that you can tell which specifically details the before and after results of something that was recently done to help the last person on the waiting list? Who did you help? What did you do? When did you do it? Where did you do it? Why did you do it? What was the outcome?
“we are helping children and women work for their future we have over 200 children on our help list with hundreds seeking for the same, 63 women directly on our help list also with a numbere of them seeking for the same.”
Tip: Make your story more personal. Expand on a single lady or a group of women and tell a story about your progress and goals. Tell how they have been personally helped or ask them if they would like to write or tell the story themselves and place it on the website. The information currently on the website is a good start. We can do better with just a few small changes.
2. Action Item: Place a date on the website.
Each time the website is updated change the date to reflect when it was last updated. Placing a date on the website allows the viewer to see that there is a real person monitoring and updating the website. I have provided an example from Jenna’s website showing when it was updated. You can do the same.
Example:
Feature Stories
All News – note this was a link which I removed
Bead the Change
12/7/2010 12:00:00 AM –Note the website was updated recently
3. Action Item: Make the information on the website more personal.
Write more personal information about the individuals you are helping, specifically the children and older people in the village. Take some videos of the children in the project doing something fun or have them simply say thank you in the video. Send the video to your donors or place it on the website. They will share the information with their friends and contacts. In America we call that free advertisement! One summer I donated over $100.00, ($10.00 at a time) to the Merry Go Round project in Africa because of the children. The little girl in the green dress made me laugh when she was talking about ignoring her teacher when it was time to go to class. Seeing the children play was a joy and carried me back to my childhood when I played on the Merry Go Round in the park.
Below is the link to the video that caught my attention. The link is included in the email text that I sent to my friends and family. I specifically left out the email address to protect their privacy. No telling how many of my friends forwarded the email on to their friends and family members. Nobody asked me to do it, I just did it because I thought the Merry Go Round project was and still is a good cause. The individual that completed the video did a great job. When you look at the children you see smiles on their faces. They were laughing and playing. The little girl was clean and looked healthy. I could tell she was being taken care of. Everybody wants to be a part of something good.
When you click the link in the email and watch the video pay close attention to the narrative. Did the producer answer all of the questions below during the video?
Who did you help? What did you do? When did you do it? Where did you do it? Why did you do it? What was the outcome? Was the task or mission successful, if so why? If the task or mission was not successful, what could have been done to make the task a success? I’ll send another email concerning what we need to do concerning project management later.
My Email content
Hi,
The most important item that can have the greatest impact on poverty reduction in the world is a sufficient supply of clean water!
Children in rural African are bringing clean water to their communities by doing what kids like most - playing!
I just visited the web site of Play Pumps International, an NGO that is bringing clean water to rural African communities through a great technology - a merry-go-round water pump!
The children laughing on the merry-go-round really made me want to help!
What you can do!
Click the links below to learn about the Merry-Go-Round Water Pumps
Show some Love - Donate! As little as $10.00 provides access to clean water for one person for a lifetime. Your contribution is tax-deductible!
Spread the word - Tell others about the organization and share the links below with your friends and family.

Love Ya All,
Pam
Play Pumps International has updated their video. I still keep the old one above. From time to time I go into my email and watch the children play. Kind of reminds me of when I was a kid playing on the Merry Go Round. Everybody likes bringing joy to children and old people.
3. Action Item: Thank those that have helped you publicly!
Each time someone makes a donation or does something for the organization thank them publicly on the website. When an organization places something on their website about what they are doing to help our organization, ask for permission to place a “Special Thank You” on your website about what the organization is doing for you. This will help to drive more traffic to website. Also, others will learn about your website and the wonderful work you are doing! We call that the shaking hands approach which results in more web visibility for both organizations.
A. Obtain permission from Jenna Gaska to place her updated featured story as a link on your website.
B. Ensure you have at least two places on the website to say thank you to all of those that have helped or donated funds.
Here’s another example of how the website gives recognitions to donors.
Example: Kiwanis Organization
http://slp.kiwanis.org/CircleK/service/partners.aspx.
Notice in the link under Service Partners the organization listed all of those organizations that have helped them collect money. You can do the same my listing all of the organizations that have donated their time and money to the church.
4. Action Item: Place a link on the website to accept donations.
Since Moneygram only allows pickup service for Uganda the process may be time consuming.
Western Union has a demonstration on line showing how their program works. Moneygram may have the software code for us to place their link directly on the website. The goal is to have the donate button on our website. When the individual clicks the button they will be transferred to the Western Union website to process their transaction and returned back to our website for donation confirmation. Do you have some locally that is working the website?
Go to http://www.westernunion.com and click the following links
Click on Products and Services
Click on Bill Payment Services – Click international payments
Click International payments under Bill Payment Services
Click Business Services
Paste the links below in your browser and you should be able to go directly to the page.

Do you have some locally that is maintaining the website? If not, we should inquire and assign someone to this task as soon as possible.
5. Action Item: Place a Monitor on the website so donors can track the progress of our tasks online. I’ve placed a link for an example below. The donors are using pay pal to make contributions.

Have a nice day,
Pam
