neighbouring Kisii highlands hence the name ' Kabondo' and 'Kasipul' which literally means Bondo's place and Sipul's place respectively. The community fought many wars with the Kalenjin over this piece of land leading to the eventual victory of the Luos. The community had a form of government consisting of a council of elders whose decision on community issues was final. The community grew subsistence crops, reared animals like goats and cattle and relied heavily on fishing due to its proximity to the lake.
