Changes at Kabondo Village on Nabuur
Hello Friends of Kabondo!
In recent months you may have noticed that I have not been as active on Nabuur. I have taken on more responsibility in my work as well as volunteer positions in Canada. However, I remain committed to Kabondo and seeing that things continue to move forward.
To achieve that, we are pleased to welcome Rebecca Devitt who will be sharing the the facilitation of Kabondo on Nabuur with myself and Eric. This will hopefully allow for more updates and ongoing discussion on Nabuur, and ultimately, more accomplishments in Kabondo.
Rebecca is from Melbourne, Australia and is currently working on a Masters degree in International Relations. She is passionate about human rights and poverty related issues.
I would like to extend a big welcome to Rebecca!
Changes at Kabondo on Nabuur
Aside from the addition of Rebecca as co-facilitator, over the next few months I anticipate a re-evaluation of the projects on Nabuur. Please check back often to provide your input and suggestions!
Microloan Funds Received
If you haven't already heard, $1200 was raised through GiveMeaning, a process that took nearly 2 years! The funds have now been received in Kabondo and the microloan program will begin soon. Eric is currently working with and learning from a women's group established in Nyakach, with James Omollo where they have had success with a similar project. Looking forward to know the outcome of this!
Regards,
Barb

Hello Rebecca,
Thank you very much for accepting this opportunity and the enthusiasm you have shown towards this assignment. The local representative of Nyakach village and some two of her beneficiaries will soon be visiting Kabondo to share experiences on their microloan project which is doing very well. After this meeting i will share here the next steps because we want the women to start benefiting from the loan by mid this month. So they will help us with advice, how they have managed to stick together, documentation among others.
Thanks and feel most welcome.
Eric
