Locate a cell phone

Status: Finished
Step:

Some time ago, Eric purchased a computer for use with the project. However, he has not been able to connect to the internet. As we know, it is vital to connect to stay in touch with the project on Nabuur. Currently, Eric travels to internet cafes where he pays per minute. It gets quite costly.

Another neighbour has informed us that Eric can connect to the internet through a cell phone.

Help us find a cell phone so Eric can connect to the internet. To purchase locally costs between $100-$200 USD.

The type recommended included Nokia 6 series or Motorolla L series. They must have a dual port in order to connect to the internet and the software for the phone.

As our villafe facilitaor Barb rightly informed you, the phones donot necessarily have to be new. The only thing is that they should be designed for use with a computer for internet connection. Ordinarily such a phone would have some extra port and a data cable for phone-computer communication. The few phones that i know that have this facility are Motorola L6, L7, L8 and Nokia N Series among others. We would be very grateful if you could help us surmount this obstacle. However, we would not want to limit your generosity. If you come across phones that donot meet these specifications, you can still donate it them for use in communication amongst our project volunteers. Thank you very much for your offer.
