Just an update on the website development. A preliminary design was put together and we are just finishing that. Robert was planning on working on building a CMS for Kabondo, which takes a bit more time. In the meantime and after discussions with Eric, we are going to put up a preliminary and much more simple website to start. This way we can work out what we like, don't like, need, and other technical issues. Then, we can move the site over to a more robust platform. Kent is currently working on this, based on some preliminary work he did.

We will have to begin getting content together as well. Eric will be providing photos once he gets a chance, as well as content.

I am trying to find a hosting service and have been provided with a few names varying in price. If anyone has some suggestions, let me know!

Just an update on the website. I have registered the domain name www.kabondopoverty.org and signed up for 2 years for web hosting. Kent is working on putting together the navigational layout and design. We will be working on content soon, so if you have input or have some time to assist with this, then let me know.

We have done the following on the website:

Registered the domain name (www.kabondopoverty.org)

Set-up the main navigation and main pages.

What needs to be done?

- Add text and content including additional pictures
- Work on the development of a CMS application and/or convert everything to Joomla (or another CMS application) so the community and project staff can make their own changes.

I should mention that I am the administrator for the site and have all the passwords, but have found that I don't have the skills to even add the content...

So, in what areas do you think you can assist?

I would be happy to help with setting up the CMS system. I have administered Joomla servers in the past, so I am fairly familiar with deployment, maintenance, and rudimentary content authoring using the platform.

Do you have data on what the hosting company is providing under the plan you purchased? We first need to establish if the server has the requisite capacity.

It looks like the package has everything that we need. I can install something if I'm given access. You will also need to make a decision about the design, as far as the sections and the visual format of the site. Perhaps it is best to wait until we have something installed and some content up, though.

Yes, we can formulate this content on Joomla. Would you prefer if I set up a Joomla site somewhere else, so that we can experiment? I have access to a couple of servers that I could use for this purpose.
